Numsy MINI User Manual

Welcome to the Numsy MINI user manual. This guide provides comprehensive information on how to use your Numsy MINI white noise machine to create a soothing sleep environment for your baby.

Key Features

Getting Started: Building Up White Noise

White noise may not work for everyone immediately. Fortunately, 97% of little ones notice positive results within a week. White noise is a new sleep ritual and may take time to establish. Patience is recommended.

Step 1: Choosing Your Sound

Every child and adult is different and will have preferences for certain sounds. Experiment with the available sounds to see how your little one reacts. Sounds from the womb, the heart, and white noise are often considered favorites.

Step 2: Volume and Placement

Consider the noise level in your environment. If you are in a busy, noisy area, position the Numsy so its sound is directed towards your child.

The Numsy can be placed in your child's crib, but ensure it is out of the way so your child can sleep soundly and not play with it. The sound level can be set between 75-85 decibels, similar to the volume experienced in the womb.

Ensure no blanket or fabric can fall over the Numsy, as this could cause overheating.

Phasing Out White Noise

While white noise can be removed at any time, a gradual approach is recommended. Reduce the volume slightly over a period of 2-4 weeks. This helps your baby become more independent in falling asleep. Some days may be more challenging; if so, revert to the previous day's volume level. Repeat this process until your child learns to sleep independently with the help of white noise.

DO'S & DON'TS

Do's

  • Take the Numsy everywhere your child goes (car, crib, family visits, daycare). This provides a sense of home and helps prevent homesickness.
  • Gently introduce your child to the Numsy. Let them see and hear features like breathing light and sounds to create a positive sleep association.

Don'ts

  • Never turn down the sound while sleeping, as this can disrupt sleep transitions and cause awakenings.
  • Don't give up immediately on a new sleep routine; it takes time for your baby to adjust and associate it with sleeping.
  • Do not charge the product longer than necessary, as this can cause battery problems.
  • Do not use the Numsy while it is in the charger, as this may reduce battery life and prevent it from fully charging.
