Connectivity and Compatibility

The PM7000N offers extensive connectivity options, including four analogue inputs, one coaxial input, and two optical digital inputs. It also features a USB-A port for high-resolution audio files. For wireless streaming, it supports HEOS multi-room and streaming, network audio streaming, AirPlay 2, and Bluetooth. It is compatible with various audio formats, including lossy formats like MP3, WMA, and AAC, and lossless formats such as FLAC, ALAC, and WAV up to 192kHz/24-bit, as well as DSD audio streaming up to DSD5.6. Gapless playback is supported for FLAC, WAV, ALAC, and DSD files.

The amplifier is also compatible with popular streaming services like Spotify Connect, Deezer, TIDAL, and Soundcloud, and can be controlled via the HEOS app. It supports voice assistants such as Alexa, Google Assistant, and Siri.

Build and Design

The PM7000N features a metal front panel and a shielded toroidal transformer for optimal performance. It utilizes Marantz's proprietary HDAM-SA3 and SA2 circuits, along with a symmetric PCB layout and an aluminium extrusion heat sink. The digital circuit is housed in a shield case to minimize interference, ensuring a pure analogue experience. Premium Marantz SPKT-1+ speaker terminals are included for improved speaker connection.

Power and Performance

With a power output of 60W per channel into 8 ohms and 80W per channel into 4 ohms, the PM7000N delivers robust amplification. It boasts a wide frequency response from 5 Hz to 100 kHz (±3 dB) and a low total harmonic distortion of 0.02%. The damping factor is 100 and over (8 ohm, 20 Hz - 20 kHz). The amplifier includes a high-quality phono EQ with an OP amp + FET input stage for exceptional vinyl playback clarity.
