Setup and Installation
SIM Card Activation and Installation
Ensure your SIM card supports WCDMA and FDD LTE. Activate it via your smartphone or carrier before inserting it into the camera. If the SIM card has a PIN, disable it using a smartphone first. Insert the Nano SIM card with the gold contacts facing down, pushing the trimmed corner inward. The SIM card slot is located above the Micro SD card slot.
Connecting to the Mobile Carrier Network
After inserting the SIM card, turn on the camera. A red light will appear briefly, followed by a blue light indicating network connection success. Voice prompts will confirm the connection status. Troubleshooting tips are provided for common issues like unrecognized SIM cards or network registration failures.
App Setup
Download the Reolink App to set up your camera. Add the camera by scanning the QR code on the device or manually entering its UID. Create a password, name your camera, select an installation scene (e.g., Outdoor), and complete the initialization process.
Camera Installation
For outdoor use, install the camera upside down for optimal performance and weather resistance. Mount it 2-3 meters (7-10 ft) above the ground at an angle for better motion detection. Secure the camera using the provided bracket and screws, or use the loop strap for mounting to a tree.
Important Notes
- Battery cameras are designed for event-triggered recording to conserve power.
- Proper installation is key for accurate motion detection and battery efficiency.
- Avoid pointing the camera towards strong light, heat sources, or mirrors.
