Safety Information
- Faulty products must not be used any more and must be disposed of, as a faulty product cannot be repaired.
- Life-threatening hazard! Never leave children unattended with the packaging materials. There is a risk of suffocation.
- Risk of injury! This product is not suitable for use by children or those with physical and/or mental disabilities, due to its high operating force and the associated risks.
- Check the product for damage and wear and tear before each use, paying particular attention to the bracket, as well as the connection between the valve and the mini bike pump.
- Risk of explosion! In case of excess pressure, there is a risk of explosion! A calibrated pressure gauge must be used to monitor the pressure while inflating.
- Risk of burns! During prolonged pumping, the mini-pump plunger and the mini-pump cylinder can become hot due to friction. After use, the product should be held only by the handle.
- Preventing damage to the product! Inflate the bicycle tyre only up to the maximum pressure specified by the manufacturer. In the case of bicycle tyres, this is usually found on the tyre wall.
Mounting on the Bicycle Frame
- Unscrew the screws (A) from the frame that are intended for mounting the bottle holder (Fig. B).
- Fix the mini-pump bracket (2) with the supplied screws (3) or with the screws (A) from the bottle cage on the frame (Fig. C).
- Secure the pump by pushing it firmly into the mini-pump bracket and fastening it with the Velcro strap (4) (Fig. D).
Warning! If the supplied screws are too large or too small, please purchase the correct size of screws from a suitable hardware store. Always ensure that the bracket is securely fitted! The cycle bracket must remain tightly secured and must not wobble, even on unpaved terrain. Otherwise, there is a risk of losing the bracket altogether, along with the mini pump.
Valve Types (Fig. H)
- B: Sclaverand valve (also called Presta valve)
This is the narrowest of the valves and is primarily used for racing bicycles. Unscrew the valve cap. A lock nut (B1) is located at the head of the valve that must be turned anticlockwise for pumping up. After inflating, tighten or unscrew both again.
Warning: the valve can quickly bend out of shape. - C: Schrader valve
This is the most stable of the valves and is primarily used for mountain and touring bicycles. Unscrew the valve cap. The valve does not have any threaded nuts that need to be opened before pumping up. - D: Express valve (also called Dunlop valve)
This valve is narrow but stable and is primarily used for everyday bicycles. Unscrew the valve cap. There is a threaded nut located below the valve head that you must turn anticlockwise before pumping up. After inflating, tighten or unscrew both again.
Use
Telescopic Function
- If the tyre pressure is low, for high volume, choose 1. Volume: To do this, unlock the telescopic function of the mini-pump by turning the locking wheel (1a) to the left (Fig. E).
- To achieve high tyre pressure, you must lock the telescopic function. For this, select 2. Pressure: Squeeze the mini-pump and turn the locking wheel (1a) to the right until it locks into place and makes an audible “click” (Fig. E).
Inflation Process
Note: Before pumping, pull out the grip (1b) as far as it will go, and flip the grip sideways to form a T. Turn the handle to lock it (Fig. E).
- Depending on whether you have a Schrader, Dunlop, or Sclaverand valve, screw the appropriate side of the valve adapter (1c) onto the hose. To do this, turn the union nut with the adapter clockwise.
- If you have a Schrader valve, screw the valve adapter (1c) onto the pump hose with the “P” facing upwards (Fig. F). The “S” side of the valve adapter is freely accessible and can be placed onto the Schrader valve.
- If you have a Sclaverand valve (also called Presta valve) or a Dunlop valve, screw the valve adapter (1c) onto the pump hose with the “S” facing upwards (Fig. F). The “P” side of the valve adapter is freely accessible and can be placed onto the Sclaverand or Dunlop valve.
- Remove the protective cap from the tyre valve.
- Screw the corresponding end of the pump hose onto the OPEN valve, then pump (Fig. G). Please note the following section for the Sclaverand valve.
Note: If the pump handle is down, it is not always guaranteed that it will stay in position. The hose must be securely clamped to the handle so that the handle retains its position.
When inflating a tyre with a Sclaverand valve please take care to:
- Loosen the lock nut on the tyre valve body.
- Screw the pump hose with the appropriate side vertically onto the Sclaverand valve on the tyre and start pumping.
- After inflating, tighten the lock nut on the valve again.
Warning! Ensure that there are no kinks in the pump connector hose!
- Operate the mini pump with a steady action and not too fast.
- When the product is not in use, keep the mini pump secured on the mini-pump bracket.
