THIS APPLIANCE MUST BE EARTHED

NB During the first few minutes of initial use, you may notice a slight odour and a little smoke. This is normal and will quickly disappear. It is the coating applied to the heating elements to prevent any corrosion during transit.

Description of Parts

The toaster features the following parts:

The main body of the toaster is cream-coloured with a retro-inspired ribbed design. It has two slots at the top for bread slices. Below the slots are several controls: the Browning Control (2) is a rotary dial, and there are buttons for Defrost (3), Re-Heat (4), and Cancel (5). The Bread Carriage Lever (1) is located on the right side. The Crumb Tray (6) is located at the rear.

Operating Instructions

Toasting

⚠️ DO NOT insert bread slices that are too thick for the Bread Slots; always ensure that the Carriage Lever is free to move up and down.

⚠️ DO NOT operate the Toaster with the Crumb Tray (6) removed.

Reheat Feature

This feature is used for reheating toast that has previously been made but has gone cold.

Defrost Feature

This feature is used for toasting bread from frozen.

⚠️ DO NOT insert bread slices that are too thick for the Bread Slots; always ensure that the Bread Carriage Lever (1) is free to move up and down.

Care and Use of your Toaster

Troubleshooting Guide

Toast is too pale and underdoneThe Browning Control (2) is on a too low a setting.Rotate the Browning Control (2) clockwise to a higher browning number.
The Cancel Button (5) has been pressed.Leave the Toaster to complete its toasting cycle and the carriage to pop up.
The Reheat button (4) has been pressed and therefore the toasting time is shortened.Ensure the Reheat Button (4) is not pressed.
Bread is frozenPress the Defrost button (4) after pushing the Bread Carriage (1) down.
Toast is dark and overcooked.The Browning Control (2) is on a too high a setting.Rotate the Browning Control (2) anticlockwise to a lower browning number.
The Defrost button (3) has been pressed and therefore the toasting time is too long.Ensure the Defrost Button (3) is not pressed.

Non-Rewireable Mains Plug

If your appliance is supplied with a non-rewireable plug fitted to the mains lead and should the fuse need replacing, you must use an ASTA approved one (conforming to BS 1362 of the same rating). Never use a plug with the fuse cover missing. If in doubt, consult a qualified electrician.

If you need to remove the plug – DISCONNECT FROM THE MAINS – and then cut it off the mains lead and immediately dispose of it safely. Never attempt to reuse the plug or insert it into a socket outlet as there is a danger of electric shock.
