Accessories User Guide
? NOTE: Beware of painted surfaces and roof panels.
⚠️ IMPORTANT: The safety grille cannot be folded up or down when a cargo compartment cover is installed.
This guide provides instructions for installing the Volvo Protective Steel Grille.
? TIP: It is easier if two people install the safety grille.
Installation Steps:
- Fold down the rear backrests. [Illustration: Rear seats folded down.]
- Take the screws and place them in the roof mountings above the rear side windows. Move the screws forward to the smaller cutouts [1]. [Illustration: Screws being inserted into roof mountings, showing alignment with cutouts (1).]
- Insert the safety grille through the rear door. Align the grille's mounting in the roof mounting on one side [2]. [Illustration: Grille being aligned with roof mounting (2).]
- Press in the safety grille's sprung mounting towards the roof mounting and align it with the other mounting in the roof mounting on the other side.
- Install the washer and the dome shaped nut on each side and tighten by hand.
- Fold up the safety grille towards the roof for better access when tightening the safety grille. [Illustration: Grille folded upwards towards the roof for easier tightening.]
- Tighten the protective grille on both sides using a 13 mm fixed wrench. Recommended tightening torque is 20 Nm. Check that the protective grille is secure.
- Reposition the backrests and fold down the protective grille. [Illustration: Final installation of the protective steel grille in the car's cargo area.]
