Product Structure Diagram
The product structure is illustrated with diagrams showing the main light unit and the controller.
Installation Method
1. Product Component Overview
The package includes the main light unit (ZipTile 200B), a light control skirt & grid, and optional accessories such as a double splicing bracket (sold separately), controller, power adapter, locking support rod, swivel yoke mount, and hexagonal wrench.
2. Installing the Softbox
- Position the light control skirt frame to align with the front frame of the light. Use the built-in Velcro strips to securely fasten the skirt frame to the light body, ensuring all sides are firmly attached to prevent light leaks. The skirt should sit flush with the light's front frame and be stable when lightly pulled.
- Stretch the diffusion cloth evenly over the inner edge of the skirt frame. Fasten the edges using the Velcro strips, ensuring the fabric is smooth to avoid uneven light patterns.
- Place the grid over the front of the skirt frame, aligning it with the Velcro stripe. Press firmly along all sides so the grid is fully attached and flush with the frame.
3. Installing the Locking Support Rod
- Align the locking support rod with the slots on the mounting back plate of the light. Slide the rod into the slots until it is fully seated.
- Shift the rod so it moves into the narrow part of the slot.
- Tighten down both tightening knobs by rotating them clockwise until snug. Use the provided hex wrench for an even tighter connection. Ensure the locking support rod is firmly fixed in the installation slot with no wobble.
4. Installing the Swivel Yoke Mount
- Hold the swivel yoke mount so its open clamp section aligns with the locking support rod already fixed on the light's back plate. Ensure the clamp is oriented in the desired tilt direction before securing.
- Slide the mount fully onto the locking support rod until it is seated against the stop point. The mount's clamp should completely encircle the rod for a stable fit.
- Turn the clamp's locking handle clockwise until it is snug. Ensure there is no wobble. If needed, slightly reposition and re-tighten.
5. Mounting the light onto a light stand
- Position the swivel yoke mount's receiver directly above the stand's spigot. Make sure the mount's tightening knob is loosened enough to fit over the spigot, but not fully removed.
- Lower the light and mount assembly straight down onto the spigot until fully seated. The mount should fit snugly over the spigot without excessive force.
- Turn the mount's locking knob clockwise to tighten it onto the spigot. Double-check that the light is firmly fixed and cannot rotate or slip.
6. Tilt Angle Adjustment
Loosen the angle locking handle on the side of the Swivel Yoke Mount, then adjust the tilt angle of the light to your needs, and then tighten the angle locking handle.
7. Connecting the light to the controller
Align the connector on the head cable from the light with the output port on the controller. Insert the connector fully until it clicks, then engage the twist lock mechanism to achieve a secured connection.
8. Power Supply Options
This fixture supports two power supply modes:
- DC Power Input: Operates via the included DC power adapter.
- V-Mount Battery: Compatible with standard V-Mount batteries for portable, on-location use. (The battery needs to be purchased separately. When operating on battery power, the maximum available power output is reduced to 90–110 W.)
Note: The DC power input and V-Mount battery operate as independent power sources. They cannot be cross-controlled via each other's power switch.
- When only a V-Mount battery is connected, the light cannot be turned on using the DC power switch.
- When only the DC power adapter is connected, the light cannot be turned on using the battery switch.
- If both the AC adapter and a V-Mount battery are connected simultaneously, AC power will take priority.
9. Controller Placement
The controller is equipped with a durable lanyard, allowing it to be conveniently hung on the light stand for easy access and operation.
10. Cable Management for Storage
When storing the light, use the Velcro straps to secure the cable to the back of the fixture. This helps prevent tangling, protects the connector, and keeps the unit organized for transport.
11. Connecting Multiple Units
When using two or more Z200B fixtures, you can connect them together using the zipper-edge design around the lights. This allows multiple units to be seamlessly linked, creating a larger and more versatile lighting setup.
12. Installing the Double Splicing Bracket
The double splicing bracket allows you to securely connect two light mats together for combined use. Note: The double splicing bracket is sold separately.
Place the two light mats side by side, ensuring their slots on the mounting back plates are aligned. Slide the double splicing bracket into the installation slot on the back of both lights. Move the bracket along the slot until it reaches the narrow section of the slot. Tighten the knobs on both ends of the bracket by turning them clockwise until the bracket is firmly fixed in place.
13. Attaching Spliced Units to Mount
Repeat Step 4 to install the double splicing bracket onto the swivel yoke mount. (The double splicing bracket needs to be purchased separately.)
