Software Installation
Preparation
To prepare for software installation, follow these steps:
- Connect one end of a USB (A-Male to B-Male) cable to the USB port of the LCD monitor and the other end to the USB port of your computer.
- Connect video input:
- Connect one end of an HDMI cable to the HDMI port of the LCD monitor and the other end to the HDMI port of your computer.
- Or, connect one end of a DisplayPort cable to the DP port of the LCD monitor and the other end to the DP port of your computer.
- Plug the power adapter into the DC port on the monitor. Then plug the power cables of your computer and the LCD monitor into a power outlet.
- Turn on your computer and the LCD monitor.

Installing the Software
IMPORTANT! If an older version of the software is installed, remove it first. Refer to the "Uninstalling the Software" section.
- Open a web browser and navigate to
https://www.gigabyte.com/Monitor/All-Series
. - Locate and click on your gaming monitor name to download the software.
- Double-click the downloaded
UpdPack.exe
file. The extracting wizard will appear. - Wait for the installation to complete and click OK when prompted.
Uninstalling the Software
To uninstall the OSD Sidekick software:
- From the Windows desktop, click the [Windows Start button] and select GIGABYTE.
- Right-click on OSD_Sidekick and select Uninstall.
- The "Programs and Features" page will open. Select OSDSidekick from the list.
- Right-click on OSDSidekick again and select Uninstall. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the uninstallation.
Using the Software
Launching the Software
IMPORTANT! Ensure your computer is connected to the LCD monitor via USB as described in the "Preparation" section (page 4) before launching.
After driver installation, the OSD Sidekick software shortcut icon will appear on your desktop.
Double-click the [OSD Sidekick icon] to launch the software.
Note: The first time you open OSD Sidekick, run it as an administrator. Right-click OSD_Sidekick in the GIGABYTE folder, select More, then Run as administrator.
Configuring the Settings
The OSD Sidekick software allows you to configure advanced monitor settings.
Notes:
- Most configuration options are similar to the monitor's OSD menu and Quick Menu, accessible via the Control button. Refer to the monitor's user guide for more details.
- Adjustments can typically be made by:
- Dragging a slider.
- Clicking an [ON/OFF toggle] to enable/disable a function.
- Clicking a [Dropdown arrow icon] to select an option.
- All changes are applied directly to the monitor.
Display Setting
Configure game, image, multi-picture, Dashboard, and Game Assist settings.

Configuring the Picture Mode Profiles
There are 6 preset Picture Mode profiles that cannot be deleted.
Note: Hover over a preset Picture Mode name and click to reset it to default settings.
You can also:
- Click E-sports Customize to add or import profiles.
- To add a new profile, select Add profile.
- Note: Configure "Gaming & Picture" settings before creating a new profile.
- To import a profile, select Import profile.

Browse to the desired location, select the profile file, and click OK to import.
Note: The default profile folder is at the OSDSidekick installation path.
Customize profiles by:
- Renaming the profile.
- Clicking the [Picture icon] to modify the profile picture. Browse and click OK to upload.
- Clicking the [Confirm icon] to save modifications.
- Clicking the [Reject icon] to discard modifications.
- Clicking the [Delete icon] to delete a customized profile.
- Clicking the [Close icon] to exit the E-sports Customize menu.
Note: User-defined Picture Modes apply to the monitor's Custom 3 setting.
Customizing the Crosshair Cursor
Set the CROSSHAIR setting to ON to activate the function. Select a rectangular grid and click the [Pencil icon] to draw.
Select the desired color and line thickness. Draw the new crosshair cursor.
Click Save. The new crosshair will appear on screen.
Exporting/Importing the Crosshair Cursor
Click Export to save the crosshair file to a specified folder. Enter a file name and click OK.
Note: The default Crosshair folder is at the OSDSidekick installation path.
Click Import to load a crosshair file from a specified folder. Browse, select the file, and click OK.

Customizing the PIP/PBP Settings
Set Picture-in-Picture (PIP) or Picture-by-Picture (PBP) to ON. Configure settings:
- Click PBP for side-by-side display from two sources.
- Click PIP for main source full screen with a sub-window for the second source.
- In PBP/PIP SOURCE, click the [Dropdown arrow icon] to select the main source.
- For PIP layout, in PIP SIZE, click the [Dropdown arrow icon] to set sub-window size (Large, Medium, Small).
- For PIP layout, in PIP LOCATION, click the [Dropdown arrow icon] to set sub-window location (Left-Top, Right-Top, Left-Bottom, Right-Bottom).
- Click DISPLAY SWITCH to switch main and sub sources.
- Click AUDIO SWITCH to switch audio sources.
Linking Apps to the Profile
Click the [Plus icon] to link a profile with an application.
Select the application (*.exe
) and click OK.
When the application opens, display settings will automatically change to the linked profile.
Customizing the Dashboard Information
Set DASHBOARD to ON. Configure settings:
- In LOCATION, click the [Dropdown arrow icon] to set options display to Up or Down.
- Note: Dashboard location (right/left) depends on Game Assist location. If Game Assist is left, Dashboard is right, and vice versa.
- Click SETTINGS to select which options to display (e.g., CPU frequency, GPU temperature, etc.). Uncheck options to hide them.
Customizing the Game Assist Settings
Configure Game Assist settings:
- Set REFRESH RATE to ON to display the refresh rate.
- Set GAMING TIMER to ON to display the gaming timer. Select COUNT UP or COUNT DOWN. Click the [Dropdown arrow icon] to set countdown time.
- Set GAMING COUNTER to ON to display the gaming counter.
- In LOCATION, click the [Dropdown arrow icon] to set the gaming counter location (Left Top, Left Center, Left Bottom, Right Top, Right Center, or Right Bottom).
Hot Key
Manage keyboard shortcuts for frequently used functions.
Note: Assigned hot keys appear on the HOT KEYS panel.
Assigning a Hot Key
- On the FUNCTION panel, scroll to select the desired function.
- Click the [Plus icon] to add the function to the HOT KEYS panel.
- To assign a hot key:
- Click one or more modifier keys: ALT, SHIFT, and/or CTRL.
- Click the symbol field and enter a desired symbol.
- Click the [Save icon] to save settings.
Description: A hot key combines modifier keys (Alt, Shift, Ctrl) with a symbol.
Editing a Hot Key
To edit a hot key:
- Select the function on the HOT KEYS panel and click the [Edit icon].
- Assign a new hot key using modifier keys (ALT, SHIFT, CTRL) and a symbol, then click [Save icon].
Deleting a Hot Key
On the HOT KEYS panel, select the hot key to delete and click the [Delete icon].
General Setting
Configure display screen, system, and hot keys for the Control button.
Screen resolution & Frequency
Description: Shows settings for Resolution, Frequency, OSD Transparency, OSD Display Time, LED Indicator, RGB Controller. Also shows the QUICK SWITCH panel for the Control button, allowing selection of functions like BLACK EQUALIZER, VOLUME, PICTURE MODE, INPUT, CONTRAST, BRIGHTNESS.
Changing the Hot Key for the Control Button
On the QUICK SWITCH panel, you can change the preset hot key functions for the Control button. Select a key position (e.g., Left, Up, Right, Down) and click the [Dropdown arrow icon] to select the desired option.
KVM
Configure KVM (Keyboard, Video, Mouse) related settings.
Description: Shows connections for USB-B and Type-C. Includes KVM SWITCH and Display Select options.
KVM Switch: Switches the input source assigned to USB-B or Type-C connections.
Display Select: Binds the input source with USB Type-B and USB Type-C connections.
Note: Press the [KVM button] behind the monitor to switch devices.
About
View current firmware and software versions and update them.
IMPORTANT! Do not turn off the monitor during firmware updates, as it may cause malfunction.
Updating the Software Automatically
Click LIVE UPDATE to check for and automatically install software updates when a new version is available.
Set AUTO UPDATE to ON to have the system check for updates and notify you when the app opens. Requires an internet connection.
Updating the Firmware Manually
Note: Manual firmware updates do not require an internet connection.
- Click DOWNLOAD. Download the latest firmware from the GIGABYTE website and save it.
- Click BROWSE. Select the firmware file (
*.bin
) and click OK. - Click UPDATE to apply the firmware.
- Wait for the process to complete. A "Success" message will appear. Click OK to close the message window.
