Warnings and Environmental Policy
Warnings
For personal safety and protection of the equipment, use the following safety precautions:
- Do not handle the system with wet or damp hands.
- Disconnect the power supply before making any connections.
- Disconnect the power supply from the air conditioning and heating system before connecting or disconnecting equipment.
- Take care not to cause a short circuit in any of the system's connections.
Environmental Policy
Do not dispose of this equipment with household waste. Electrical and electronic equipment contain substances that may damage the environment if not handled appropriately. The symbol of a crossed-out waste bin ?️ indicates electrical equipment that must be disposed separately from other urban waste. For correct environmental management, it must be taken to the collection centers provided for this purpose when it is no longer usable.
Equipment components may be recycled. Act in accordance with current regulations on environmental protection.
If you replace it with other equipment, you must return it to the distributor or take it to a specialized collection center.
Those breaking the law or by-laws will be subjected to environmental protection fines.

Modification Statement

FCC Class B Digital Device Notice

FCC Regulatory Notices (Testing)
The units shall be tested by a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL) in accordance with ANSI/UL Standard UL 1995/CAN/CSA-C22.2 No. 236-11 – 4th Edition (R2011) – Heating and Cooling Equipment, and will bear the Listed Mark.
All wiring shall be in accordance with the National Electric Code (NEC)/Canadian Electrical Code (CEC).
DZK Interfaces
DZK thermostats control the air conditioning and boost the energy efficiency of your AC unit. Both the main and zone thermostats can be easily configured. From your main thermostat, you can select the available operation modes or define the energy efficiency (profile).
Wired Thermostat
Interface with a 3.5" color touch screen for controlling the zone. Features include:
- Control of set point temperature, displayed in 1°F/0.5°C increments.
- Configurable set point range for Cooling and Heating.
- Room temperature and relative humidity reading.
- Operation mode, User mode, and Airflow control (only available for the Main Wired Thermostat).
- Timer function.
- Zone navigation.
- Time schedules.
- Configurable as Main or Zone thermostat.
Wireless Thermostat
Low-energy E-ink thermostat for controlling the zone through capacitive buttons. Features include:
- Control of set point temperature, displayed in 1°F/0.5°C increments.
- Configurable set point range for Cooling and Heating.
- Room temperature and relative humidity reading.
- Timer function.
- Zone navigation (only if no Wired Thermostat is available).
Wireless Lite Thermostat
Interface for controlling the air conditioning through capacitive buttons. Features include:
- On/Off button.
- Allows adjustment of the base set point temperature in increments of ± 1°F/0.5°C (by default) or ± 2°F/1°C up to a limit of ± 6°F/3°C. This base set point temperature can be configured only through any Wired Thermostat.
- Room temperature and relative humidity sensing.

Getting to Know Your Wired Thermostat
Main Screen Display
The main screen options for the Wired Thermostat are:
Diagram Description: The screen displays icons and text for Operation Mode, User Mode, Airflow Control, Current Zone/Zone Navigation Menu, Current Set Point, On/Off status, Zone Settings, and User Settings. It also shows Current Room Temperature/Relative Humidity and Zone Demand.
- Operation Mode: The current mode of temperature control (Cool, Heat, Auto, Dry, or Emergency Heat). Available only on the Main thermostat.
- User Mode: Allows quick changes to system configuration via preloaded settings (Eco, Vacation, Stop, Comfort, Unoccupied, Night time). Available only on the Main thermostat.
- Airflow Control: Regulates airflow quantity with options: Silence, Standard, Power. Available only on the Main thermostat.
- Current Zone/Zone Navigation Menu: Displays the current zone and allows access to the zone navigation menu.
- Current Room Temperature: Displays the current (actual) temperature in the room where the thermostat is installed. The range of measured room temperature is from 50°F/10°C to 90°F/32°C. If the room temperature is out of these limits, it will be displayed as >90°F/32°C or <50°F/10°C.
- Relative Humidity: Indicates the relative humidity of the zone.
- Current Set Point: The programmed temperature for a zone. Press to switch between heating and cooling set points. Use Up ⬆️ or Down ⬇️ to adjust by 1°F (0.5°C) increments.
- Zone Demand: This icon ? or ❄️ is displayed if the zone is actively cooling or heating the space.
- Local Ventilation: Activates or deactivates the fan mode in the selected zone when the system is not actively cooling or heating the zones.
- Time Schedule Programming: Allows programming and activation/deactivation of time schedules.
- User Settings: Controls functions like language and screen brightness.
- Zone Settings: Includes Timer (auto power-off after 30, 60, or 90 minutes) and Lite Settings (for Wireless Lite Thermostats).
- On/Off: Turns the zone On or Off.
Screensaver
The screensaver activates after about 12 seconds of inactivity, displaying the following information:

- Time and Date: Editable via user settings.
- Current Zone: Displays the current zone.
- Current Room Temperature: Displays the current temperature in the room.
- Relative Humidity: Indicates the humidity of the zone.
- Operation Mode: Displays the current operation mode.
- On/Off: Press to switch the zone On/Off.
To access the Home Screen from the screensaver, press the Airzone [Airzone] icon.
Using Your Wired Thermostat
Adjusting the Temperature
The temperature displayed is the current set point. You can easily adjust it:
- Press the set point temperature to switch between heating and cooling set points.
- Press Up ⬆️ or Down ⬇️ to manually adjust by 1°F (0.5°C) increments.
Permitted temperature ranges:
- Heating mode: 59°F – 84°F / 15°C - 28°C.
- Cooling mode: 64°F – 86°F / 17°C - 30°C.
Note: In Auto mode, a minimum difference between heating and cooling set points is enforced to prevent setting temperatures within a protection range.
Operation Mode
Select from the Home Screen by pressing the operation mode icon:
- Cool: Starts a cooling cycle when zone demand is for cooling (T Set-Point < T room).
- Heat: Enables heating when zone demand is for heating (T Set-Point > T room).
- Auto: Automatically switches between cool and heat based on global demand.
- Dry: Starts a dehumidification cooling cycle when zone demand is present (Tset-Point < T room). This mode decreases humidity.
- Emergency Heat: Activates Auxiliary Heat for heating in case of system failure. (Visible only if an auxiliary heating device is installed).
User Mode
These modes offer pre-configured settings for different situations:
- Comfort: Default and standard mode.
- Eco: Optimized for energy efficiency.
- Night time: Automatically adjusts set point temperature in increments, increasing for cooling and decreasing for heating.
- Unoccupied: For short periods away; sets an efficient temperature. If activated, the zone runs in Comfort mode.
- Vacation: Saves energy during extended periods away.
- Stop: The system remains switched off, regardless of zone demand, with all motorized dampers open.
Airflow Control
Select the control algorithm that best fits your installation:
- Silence: Lower fan speed to reduce noise.
- Standard: Default setting; fan speed is regulated based on zone demand.
- Power: Higher fan speed for increased airflow.
Local Ventilation
Allows activation ? or deactivation of ventilation in the selected zone when the system is not actively cooling or heating.
Important: In Heat Pump installations, activating global and local ventilation in a DZK zoning box connected to the master indoor unit may cause the Stop user mode to turn off the rest of the DZK zoning box.
Time Schedule
Access the time schedule menu by pressing the time schedule icon ⏰.
Two options are available:
- Preset Schedules: Deactivated by default, apply to all zones daily. Can be activated and edited. Includes WAKE, DAY, EVENING, SLEEP, OCCUPIED, UNOCCUPIED presets.
- Create New Schedules: Press "Add New +", select zone(s), week days, and schedule type (User Mode, Temperature, On/Off). Configure time and action, rename, and activate/deactivate.
Zone Navigation
After pressing a zone name, a list of all zones is displayed with their status. You can switch zones On/Off from this screen. Pressing a zone name shows all parameters for checking/modification.
- On/Off: Control zone power.
- Temperature control: Adjust set point.
- Local ventilation: Activate/deactivate.
- Time schedules: Create or activate/deactivate existing schedules.
- User settings: Access user preferences.
- Zone settings: Access zone-specific settings.
The "All zones" option broadcasts changes to all zones.
User Settings
These settings control basic functionalities:
- Units: Select Celsius °C or Fahrenheit °F.
- Language: Select your language.
- Brightness: Adjust screen brightness, enable/disable during screensaver.
- Date and Time: Set time, format (12/24 hr), and daylight saving. Set the date via the calendar.
Zone Settings
- Timer: Auto power-off timer (Off, 30, 60, 90 minutes).
- Lite settings: Defines base set-point temperature for zones with Wireless Lite Thermostat.
Note: Lite settings are available when navigating to a Wireless Lite Thermostat from a Wired Thermostat.
Warnings and Errors
Warnings
- Unoccupied Override: Zone activated while in Unoccupied mode. System uses Comfort Mode during override time, then returns to previous status.
- Lite Low Battery: Battery is low, with approximately 2 weeks of life left.
- Global Ventilation: Global ventilation is activated.
Errors
Communication errors with the main controller:
- Error 1: Communication error with the main controller.
- Error 9: Communications error between the DZK Interface Board and the system.
- Error 10: Communication error between the DZK BACnet Interface and the system.
- Error 11: Communication error between the DZK Interface Board and the Daikin indoor unit.
Other Errors:
- Error 5: Temperature sensor is opened.
- Error 6: Temperature sensor is short circuited.
- Error 8: Wireless Lite Thermostat not found.
- AC Unit error.

Getting to Know Your Wireless Thermostat
Main Screen Display
Press the Airzone [Airzone] icon to exit screensaver and go to the home screen. Functions available:

- Operation Mode: Selected from the Main thermostat (Cool, Heat, Auto, Dry, Emergency Heat).
- User Mode: Selected from the Main thermostat (Eco, Vacation, Stop, Comfort, Unoccupied, Night time).
- Airflow Control: Selected from the Main thermostat (Silence, Standard, Power).
- Zone: Displays the current zone.
- Current Room Temperature: Displays the current temperature in the room. Range: 50°F/10°C to 90°F/32°C.
- Relative Humidity: Indicates the humidity of the zone.
- Control Bar: Adjusts parameters by pressing or sliding. Press once for single-degree adjustment; slide for larger steps.
- Current Set Point: Displays the temperature set point from the control bar.
- Setting Parameters: Access Local Ventilation, Timer, and Information parameters.
Screensaver
The screensaver activates after about 12 seconds of inactivity, displaying Date and Zone Status.
Diagram Description: The screensaver shows Date, Zone Status (On/Off, User Mode, Errors), and a prompt to press Airzone to start.
To access the Home Screen, press the Airzone [Airzone] icon when the screensaver is active.

Navigation
Follow on-screen instructions. Press side buttons on control bars to execute actions.
Adjusting the Temperature
The displayed temperature is the current set point. Adjust it using the control bar:
- On/Off: Press to turn the zone On/Off.
- Temperature Control: Adjust the set point temperature using the control bar (pressing or sliding) by 1°F (0.5°C) increments.
Available temperature ranges:
- Heating mode: 59°F/15°C – 84°F/29°C.
- Cooling mode: 64°F/18°C – 86°F/30°C.
Note: In Auto mode, a minimum difference between heating and cooling set points is enforced.
About the Battery
A battery alert ? appears when batteries are low. To replace, remove the thermostat from its back plate and replace the CR2450 battery.
Important: Use top-brand batteries for better duration.
Setting Parameters
Access parameters via the Setting Menu icon ⚙️.
- Local Ventilation: Activate ? or deactivate ventilation in the selected zone.
- Timer: Auto power-off timer for the zone (Off, 30, 60, 90 minutes).
- Information: Provides details on Zone (firmware, status), System (firmware, settings), and Devices.
- Zone navigation: Available when the Main thermostat is in error. Access Set point, Mode, User mode, and Airflow parameters via "All zones".

Wireless Lite Thermostat
Getting to Know Your Wireless Lite Thermostat
Provides simple control of the zone's set point temperature, adjustable in three increments from the base set point configured by a Wired thermostat.
Diagram Description: The device has a circular button with indicator lights and capacitive touch areas for temperature adjustment (lower/rise temperature).
- On/Off: Turns the zone On/Off. Also indicates operating mode via a color code system: Purple ? (Stop User mode), Red ? (Heating/Emergency heat), Blue ? (Cooling/Dry mode), Green ? (Set-point temperature reached). Solid light means ON; flashing means OFF.
- Temperature Settings: Adjusts the base set point temperature by ± 1°F/0.5°C (default) or ± 2°F/1°C up to ± 6°F/3°C.
Important: After 10 seconds of inactivity, LEDs turn off. The first press shows status (On/Off, Mode, Set point). Subsequent presses adjust On/Off or temperature.
Using Your Wireless Lite Thermostat
Adjusting the Temperature
Use the On/Off button to turn the zone on or off. The button also displays the operation mode via a color code system.
- Purple ?: Stop User mode.
- Red ?: Heating mode/Emergency heat.
- Blue ?: Cooling and Dry mode.
- Green ?: The set-point temperature has been reached.
If the button is solid lit, the thermostat is ON. If flashing, it is OFF. The button remains lit for 10 seconds to show status, then turns off.
Temperature Control: Use the buttons to raise or lower the base set point temperature by ± 1°F/0.5°C (default) or ± 2°F/1°C up to ± 6°F/3°C. LEDs indicate steps above or below the base temperature. Icons flash when the three-step limit is reached.
About the Battery
A battery alert ? appears when the battery of a Wireless Lite Thermostat is low. To replace, remove the thermostat from its back plate and replace the CR2450 battery.
Important: Use top-brand batteries for better duration.

- On/Off icon flashing red quickly: Loss of communication with the DZK Control Board.
