The connection process involves:

  1. Press the lever on the speaker terminal.
  2. Insert the twisted core wire into the exposed hole.
  3. Release the lever to secure the wire.

Important Notes:

Using Cork Spacers and Wall Mount Holes

Using the Included Cork Spacers

To enhance sound quality, Onkyo recommends using the included cork spacers. These spacers also provide stable installation by preventing the speakers from slipping. The cork spacers should be attached to the bottom surface of the D-058M speaker.

How to Use Wall Mount Holes

The D-058M unit can be mounted on a wall using the dedicated holes located on its rear. For stable wall installation, attach the included cork spacers to the positions indicated in the diagram (typically near the wall mount holes).

Caution for Wall Mounting

When mounting to a wall, pay close attention to the wall's strength. Screw retention strength varies significantly depending on the wall material and the location of studs. Use screws with a head diameter of 10mm or less and a thread diameter of 4mm or less. It is recommended to use screws that are as thick and long as possible for secure mounting. For optimal safety, Onkyo advises consulting a professional installer.

For Fixing with Commercially Available Stands or Brackets

To accommodate commercially available stands or brackets, the D-058M speaker features one M5 screw hole on the rear and two M5 screw holes with a 60mm pitch on the bottom. For specific mounting instructions, please refer to the documentation provided with your chosen stand or bracket. When using stands or brackets, consider their thickness and use screws with an effective thread length of 5-8mm for proper engagement.

Attaching/Detaching the Grille

The front grille of the D-058M can be removed. Follow these steps to attach or detach the grille:

  1. Hold the edge of the grille, pull it gently forward, and detach that edge.
  2. Similarly, pull the other edge of the grille forward, and the grille will detach completely from the main unit.
  3. To attach, align the pins at the four corners of the grille with the grille attachment holders on the main unit and push them firmly into place.

About Cleaning

For heavy dirt, dampen a soft cloth with diluted neutral detergent, wring it out firmly, wipe off the dirt, then finish with a dry soft cloth. If there is a magnetic source nearby, the interaction with this unit may cause color unevenness on the TV, so be careful with placement.

Caution for TV Proximity

When placed near a TV, electromagnetic waves from the TV may cause noise from the speakers even if the audio equipment is turned off. If this noise is bothersome, move the speakers further away from the TV.

Proximity Use with TVs and PCs

Generally, CRT TVs and PCs are delicate and affected by geomagnetism, so placing ordinary speakers nearby may cause color unevenness or distortion on the screen.

This unit is designed with magnetic shielding in compliance with JEITA technical standards, allowing for proximity use with TVs, etc. However, depending on the installation method, color unevenness may occur. In such cases, turn off the TV's power once, and turn it back on after 15-30 minutes. The TV's self-demagnetizing function should improve the screen's appearance. If color unevenness persists, move the speakers further away from the TV. Also, if there are magnets or other magnetic sources nearby, the interaction with this unit may cause color unevenness on the TV, so be careful with placement.

Precautions for Handling

This unit is suitable for normal music playback, but if the following special signals are applied, there is a risk of burnout or disconnection due to excessive current. Please exercise caution:
