Circuitry
The SLSC-12201 module's circuitry includes several key components for digital input/output operations. The diagram illustrates the configuration for a single channel, which can be extended to all 32 channels.
Key Components and Signals:
- Px.y: Represents a digital input/output channel.
- Front I/O: Input/output connection for the front panel.
- GND: Ground connection.
- Vsup_0, Vsup_1: Voltage supply connections for different banks.
- PullupEnable: Control signal for internal pull-up resistors.
- VsupSelect: Selects the voltage supply for the channel.
- ChannelEnable: Enables the channel's operation.
- ChannelDirection: Configures the channel as input or output.
- Control Logic: Manages the channel's behavior based on software configuration.
- InputThreshold: Sets the voltage threshold for digital input detection.
- RangeEnable5V: Enables a specific voltage range for input.
- DIO(z): Digital Input/Output signal line.
- Rear I/O: Input/output connection for the rear panel.
Signal Flow: Signals from the front or rear I/O are processed through the control logic, which determines their direction (input/output) and state (sourcing/sinking) based on software configuration and enable signals. Voltage supplies (Vsup_0, Vsup_1) power the module's operations.
Legend:
- Hardware connections are indicated by solid lines.
- Software control signals are indicated by dashed lines.
- Signal paths are indicated by dotted lines.
? Note: The diagram shows only one channel for simplicity. All voltages are relative to GND unless otherwise noted.
? Note: You can configure the power-on configuration in the software. The factory default power-on configuration sets the front I/O channels to sinking input and rear I/O channels to input.

Connecting Digital Devices to the SLSC-12201
The SLSC-12201 has 32 digital input/output channels that allow the direction to be configured for each channel. The 32 channels are organized into two banks of 16 channels each. Each bank can be powered from either of the Vsup connections. The banks are further organized into two ports of eight channels each. In the example shown below, the SLSC-12201 connects to the PXIe-7821R through the RTI-12301.
Connection Example:
A "Device Under Test" connects to the SLSC-12201's digital I/O channels (e.g., P0.0, P0.1, P0.2, P3.6, P3.7). These channels can be configured as sinking input, sourcing input, push-pull output, or sourcing output. The SLSC-12201 is powered by a DC Power Supply via Vsup_0 or Vsup_1. The module then interfaces with a Measurement System (e.g., FPGA on PXIe-7821R) through an RTI-12301 module, using signals like DIO0, DIO1, DIO2, DIO30, DIO31.
Short-Circuit Protection
Digital output channels are protected against short-circuit faults.
? Note: The SLSC-12201 supports up to 10 channels in simultaneous short-circuit fault.
