Product Identification
The Philips Azur 8000 Series Steam Iron is designed for efficient and effective ironing.
Key Components:
- Part 1: Soleplate - The heated metal plate that contacts the fabric.
- Part 2: Water tank - Reservoir for water used to generate steam.
- Part 3: Handle - Ergonomically designed grip for holding the iron.
- Part 4: Steam control dial - Adjusts the amount of steam produced.
- Part 5: Power cord - Connects the iron to the electrical outlet.
- Part 6: Spray nozzle - Sprays water onto fabric for dampening.
- Part 7: Temperature control dial - Sets the desired fabric temperature.
- Part 8: Vertical steam button - Activates steam for vertical steaming (e.g., curtains, garments on hangers).
- Part 9: Water filling spout - Opening for filling the water tank.
- Part 10: Power indicator light - Illuminates when the iron is powered on and heating.
Preparing for Use
Initial Use: It is normal for a small amount of smoke to be visible during the first use of the steam iron. This smoke will dissipate shortly after the initial use.
Steps for Preparation:
- Ensure the water tank is filled with water via the water filling spout (Part 9).
- Plug the power cord (Part 5) into an electrical outlet.
- Select the desired temperature using the temperature control dial (Part 7). The iron will heat up.
- Once heated, the iron is ready for use.
Auto Shut-Off Feature
For safety and energy saving, the Philips Azur 8000 Series Steam Iron is equipped with an automatic shut-off function.
The iron will automatically switch off if it is left inactive for a specific period:
- 2 Minutes: If the iron is left stationary in an upright position (on its heel) or lying flat on the soleplate. ⏱️ (Timer icon representing 2 minutes)
- 8 Minutes: If the iron is left stationary on its side or tilted. ⏱️ (Timer icon representing 8 minutes)
The auto shut-off indicator light will flash when the feature is activated, and the iron will cool down. To resume ironing, simply move the iron.
