Buttons and Ports Labeled
The FiiO K3 features several ports and controls for audio output and operation.
Top Panel:
- 2.5mm TRRS balanced headphone output
- Bass switch
- Gain switch
Front Panel:
- 3.5mm headphone output
- Power/Volume knob
Back Panel:
- Type C USB port
- USB mode switch with options for: Line Out, USB AUDIO 1.0, USB AUDIO 2.0, Coax Out, Opt Out.
Operation Explained
1. Power on/off
Turn the "Power/Volume" knob until a click sound is heard to turn on the device. To increase volume, continue turning clockwise. To decrease volume, turn anticlockwise. Turn anticlockwise until a click sound is heard to turn off the device.
Indicator
The RGB light indicates the current status of the device, changing color based on the music playing.

Notes:
- The RGB light changes color only when music is playing.
- When using Line Out, volume can be adjusted by the K3. It is normal to get output from both the Line Out and headphone out simultaneously; please unplug your headphone when using Line Out if separate output is desired.
- When using Optical Out, volume cannot be adjusted by the K3. It is normal to get output from both the Optical Out and headphone out simultaneously; please unplug your headphone when using Optical Out if separate output is desired.
- If headphones are connected to both the 3.5mm and 2.5mm headphone outputs, the 2.5mm TRRS balanced headphone output takes priority.
USB DAC
The K3 supports two shifts of USB Audio: USB Audio-1.0 (driver-free) and USB Audio-2.0.
- Switch to USB 2.0: When using the device with a Windows computer for the first time, please visit the FiiO website to download the driver and follow the installation instructions. Download link: https://www.fiio.com/supports. For MAC OS computers, no drivers are needed; simply select the K3 as the output device.
- Switch to USB 1.0: No driver installation is required. Simply select the K3 as the output device.
Note: It is recommended to set the system output volume on your computer to the maximum level and then adjust the output volume of the K3 using its volume knob to a suitable level.
After switching between USB 1.0/2.0, it is required to unplug and replug the USB cable to re-establish the connection.
Precautions
- ? In case of system error, please try unplugging and replugging the USB cable to resume normal operation.
- ? Please set the volume with moderation (especially when using Line Out) to protect your hearing and your audio equipment.
- ? Please remove headphones from your ears before plugging or unplugging them to avoid any sudden loud sounds that could damage your hearing.
- ⚠️ Do not disassemble, expose the unit to water, or attempt unauthorized repairs.
- ⛑️ Your hearing and environmental awareness are affected when using headphones. For your own safety, do not use headphones in dangerous environments.
