Introduction and Safety Warnings
This manual provides essential information for the safe operation and maintenance of the ZIPPER ZI-FS200 and ZI-FS250 Tile Cutting Machines. It is crucial to read and follow all instructions and safety guidelines before operating the machine.
Important: Always check the machine for any transport damages upon receipt. If damages are found, indicate them on the consignment note and accept the product only "under reserve". Report any hidden transport damages immediately to your dealer with the sales receipt. Subsequent claims cannot be accepted.
Ensure the delivery is complete. Always read the manual before operating the machine and keep it with the machine, especially when handing it over to others.
Machine Components
The tile cutting machine consists of the following main components:
- A) Table feet (4x): Provide stability for the machine.
- B) Tightening knob for table foot (4x): Used to secure the table feet.
- C) Angle guide: Assists in making angled cuts.
- D) Water pump: Circulates water for wet cutting.
- E) Sawing aggregate: Houses the motor and saw blade.
- F) Right tightening knob for saw blade tilt: Adjusts the tilt angle of the sawing aggregate.
- G) Water basin: Holds the water for the wet cutting system.
- H) Left tightening knob for saw blade tilt: Adjusts the tilt angle of the sawing aggregate.
- I) Fence: Guides the material being cut.
- J) End stop (2x): Limits the travel of the cutting head or work piece.
Proper Use
The ZI-FS200 and ZI-FS250 tile cutters are designed specifically for the wet cutting of tiles and ceramic materials. They are NOT suitable for cutting stone materials.
The machine must only be used for its intended purpose. Any other use is considered misuse, and the user/operator assumes full liability for any resulting damages or injuries. It is essential to adhere to all safety regulations, assembly instructions, and operating guidelines provided in this manual.
All persons operating or servicing the machine must be familiar with its operation and potential hazards. Always follow applicable accident prevention regulations and general health and safety rules.
Modifications to the machine are prohibited and will void the manufacturer's liability.
Risk Factors
Even with proper use, certain residual risks cannot be entirely eliminated. These may include:
- Machine Defects: Do not use a machine with defective parts. Replace defective parts immediately with manufacturer-approved parts.
- Electric Shock: Ensure power outlets are properly installed, earthed, and tested.
- Unintentional Start-up: Always disconnect the power plug before any adjustments, maintenance, or when the machine is not in use.
- Tile Chips: Tiles may crack during cutting, and chips can be ejected. Never stand in the path of the saw blade. Wear protective eye-glasses.
- Flying Objects: Small objects can be caught by the saw blade and catapulted. Keep the work area clean and free of tools and loose items.
- Hearing Damage: Use appropriate hearing protection.
- Harmful Emissions: Avoid using the machine in closed rooms without adequate ventilation due to tile dust.

Setup and Operation
6. Setup
After unpacking, inspect all parts for damage. Report any transport damage to your dealer immediately.
- Unfold the table feet (A) and secure them with the tightening knobs (B).
- Mount the saw blade: Remove the blade guard (E).
- Mount the saw blade, ensuring correct direction. Re-attach the guard.
- Optional: If your machine includes a control lever, mount it to the sawing aggregate cover plate using the provided screws.
7. Prior to Operation
- Fill the water basin (G) with clean, cold water and place the water pump inside.
- Check that the water hose is not kinked.
- Clear the work area of all tools and items.
- Manually rotate the saw blade to ensure it spins freely.
8. Operation
- Switch On: Press the green button (EIN/ON) on the sawing aggregate. Ensure the blade spins freely.
- Switch Off: Move the sawing aggregate clear of the material. Press the red button (AUS/OFF) on the sawing aggregate.
- Bevel Setting: The machine allows cuts from 90° to 45°. Loosen the tightening knobs (F and H), tilt the aggregate to the desired angle (see Fig. 5 and 7), and re-tighten the knobs.
- Tile Cutting: Place the tile against the fence (I). The cutting line is the saw blade slot. The angle guide (C) is used for non-90° cuts. For precise angled cuts, especially with the Italian method, measure and mark the cutting line on the tile. The angle guide can then serve as a support.
Maintenance
Attention! Always unplug the machine before performing maintenance.
- Regularly clean the machine of dust and dirt using a soft cloth or scrubber. Do not use corrosive cleaning agents.
- Drain and clean the water basin after each use.
- Check the saw blade for cracks or damage and replace it immediately if worn or damaged.
Saw Blade Replacement
- Remove the saw blade guard (E).
- Loosen the locknut using a 12/30mm wrench.
- Remove the outer flange and locknut (Fig. 4).
- Remove the old blade and mount the new one, ensuring correct direction.
- Re-mount the flange and locknut, tightening securely. Check for wobble by hand; if present, the flange was not set accurately.
Spare Parts and Guarantee
Use only original ZIPPER spare parts. Using non-original parts will invalidate the warranty.
For warranty claims or spare parts requests, contact your local ZIPPER dealer. Provide the machine's serial number, a copy of the original invoice/receipt, and the part number/description (and ideally a marked-up spare parts diagram).
