Operation
Basic Measurement
Diagram: User holding the thermometer and pointing it at a surface. The laser dot is visible on the surface.
- Press the trigger to activate the laser pointer and the device.
- Aim the laser at the center of the object you wish to measure. The distance-to-spot ratio of 12:1 means that at 12 inches away, the measurement spot is 1 inch in diameter.
- Release the trigger to hold the last reading on the display.
- The display shows the measured temperature, unit (°C or °F), and battery status.
Adjusting Emissivity
Diagram: Close-up of the device buttons and display showing emissivity setting.
The emissivity setting allows for more accurate readings on different surface types. The default emissivity is 0.95, suitable for most common surfaces. To adjust:
- Press the 'EMISS' button.
- Use the UP/DOWN buttons to select the desired emissivity value (0.10 to 1.00).
- Press the trigger or wait a few seconds to confirm the setting.
Temperature Alarm
