Owner's Manual & Installation Guide
Welcome
Thank you for choosing a Bestway product. This manual provides essential information for the safe installation, use, and maintenance of your Steel Pro™ pool. Please read carefully and keep for future reference.
Safety First: Essential Warnings and Precautions
General Safety: Always read, understand, and follow all information in this manual before installing and using the swimming pool. While these guidelines cover common risks, they cannot anticipate all potential dangers. Exercise caution, common sense, and good judgment during all water activities.
Non-Swimmer Safety: Continuous, active, and vigilant supervision by a competent adult is mandatory for weak swimmers and non-swimmers, especially children under five, who are at the highest risk of drowning. Designate a supervisor each time the pool is in use. Weak swimmers or non-swimmers should wear personal protection equipment.
Safety Devices: To prevent drowning, secure pool access with a protection device. Consider installing a barrier and securing doors/windows to prevent unauthorized access. Pool covers, alarms, and barriers are helpful but do not replace adult supervision.
Safety Equipment: Keep rescue equipment (e.g., a ring buoy) and a working phone with emergency numbers near the pool.
Safe Pool Use: Encourage all users, especially children, to learn how to swim. Learn and refresh Basic Life Support (CPR). Instruct all users on emergency procedures. Never dive into shallow water. Do not use the pool under the influence of alcohol or medication. Remove pool covers completely before entering. Maintain water hygiene and proper treatment as per the manual. Store chemicals out of reach of children. Display safety signage within 2 meters of the pool.
Pictograms: ⚠️ (Warning), ❌ (Incorrect), ✔️ (Correct), ?? (No Diving), ?? (No Running), ???? (Supervision Required).
Pool Care: Regularly monitor bolts and screws, removing splinters or sharp edges. Do not leave a drained pool outside as it can deform or be displaced by wind.
Pump & Ladder Safety: If using a filter pump, refer to its manual. Never operate the pump when people are in the pool. If using a ladder, refer to its manual. Ensure ladders are placed on a horizontal surface and do not exceed their weight limit.
Choosing the Correct Location
Selecting the right location is crucial for pool stability and safety. Ensure the chosen surface meets these technical characteristics:
- Load Bearing: The surface must uniformly support the combined weight of the water and users throughout the pool's installation. Consider that water may spill, potentially softening the surface and reducing its load-bearing capacity.
- Level Surface: The ground must be perfectly flat and smooth. An inclined or uneven surface can cause unbalanced loading, potentially damaging the liner and frame, leading to collapse and injury.
- Leg Stability: Regularly check the position of vertical legs and U-supports. They must remain level with the pool bottom. If legs sink, drain the pool immediately and re-level or reinforce the ground.
- Clearance: Position the pool away from objects children could use to climb into it. Ensure no overhead power lines or trees are present, and check for underground utility lines or cables.
- Drainage: Place the pool near an adequate drainage system for overflow or emptying.
- Object-Free: The surface must be clear of any objects, as the water's weight can cause them to damage or puncture the pool liner.
- Vegetation-Free: Remove aggressive plants and weeds, as their roots can grow through the liner and cause leaks. Eliminate grass or vegetation that might cause odors or slime.
- Proximity: Avoid placing the pool near house entrances. Do not place furniture or equipment around the pool, as spilled water can cause damage.
Suggested Surfaces: Grass, ground, concrete, or other suitable surfaces.
Not Suggested Surfaces: Mud, sand, gravel, decks, balconies, driveways, platforms, soft/loose soil.
Regulations: Check local city council by-laws regarding fencing, barriers, lighting, and safety requirements.

Assembly Steps:
- Frame Assembly: Connect the frame parts as shown in the diagrams.
- Liner Setup: Carefully unfold the liner on the prepared ground.
- Water Filling: Begin filling the pool with water.
(Note: Specific assembly diagrams are not included in this text-based output but would be visually represented in the original PDF.)
Filling the Pool with Water
ATTENTION: Never leave the pool unattended while filling.
- Fill the pool until the water reaches the drain valve.
- Turn off the water supply. Check that the water level is even on all sides to ensure the pool is level. If not level, drain the water and re-level the ground. Never move a pool with water in it.
- If the pool is level, fill to the lowest pump valve.
- Turn off the water supply and check valves for a secure fit.
- Fill the pool until the water reaches the welding line, approximately 4-12 cm (1.6"-4.7") from the top edge. DO NOT OVERFILL, as this can cause the pool to collapse. During heavy rainfall, you may need to drain some water to maintain the correct level.
- Check for any leaks at valves or seams. Do not add chemicals until all leaks are addressed.
Important Notes:
- Pools can contain significant pressure. Bulging or uneven sides indicate the pool is not level, which can lead to bursting and sudden water discharge, causing injury or property damage.
- Do not use the pump while the pool is in use.
- During the swimming season, the filtration system should run daily to ensure complete water renewal.
Pool Maintenance
Adhering to these guidelines is crucial for your health and your children's safety.
Chemical Treatment:
- Use chemical tablets with a Chemconnect or Chemical Floater dispenser (sold separately if not included).
- IMPORTANT: Do not use granular tablets or throw tablets directly into the water, as they can damage the material and discolor the PVC.
- Liquid Chemicals: Add liquid chemicals in small doses to the center of the pool to avoid direct contact with the PVC surface. Remove dispensers when the pool is in use.
- Water Testing: After chemical treatment and before use, test water chemistry with a test kit.
