- Use CT A for L1, CT B for L2, and CT C for L3. Ensure the connection direction is "House(K) → Grid(L)" to avoid PV Master App errors.
Part 2: SOP of Battery Connection to the Hybrid Inverter
This section details the connection methods between GoodWe hybrid inverters and specific battery models (e.g., BYD-Box Premium HVM/HVS). Refer to the respective user manuals for detailed operations and commissioning.
Precautions
- Ensure the battery and inverter are not damaged. Turn off the battery breaker before proceeding.
- Access the battery connectors by removing the cover plate of the battery control unit.
Step 1: Power Cable Wiring
Route the battery power cable (4-6mm²) through the battery cover plate and connect it to the appropriate port. Connect the other end to the inverter using the provided battery connectors.
[Diagram showing battery power cable routing and connection to the inverter]Step 2: Communication Cable Wiring
This involves preparing and connecting the communication cable (e.g., CAT-5) between the battery and the inverter.
- Cut off the preset BMS communication cable attached to the inverter.
- Split the pin cables inside the communication cable using professional tools.
- Connect CAN_H (Blue wire) and CAN_L (Blue & White wire) to ports 1 and 2 respectively on the inverter's BMS communication connector.
BMS Communication Connector Pin Functions on Inverter Side:
Position | Color | BMS Function |
---|---|---|
1 | Orange & White | 485_A2 |
2 | Orange | NC |
3 | Green & White | 485_B2 |
4 | Blue | CAN_H |
5 | Blue & White | CAN_L |
6 | Green | NC |
7 | Brown & White | NC |
8 | Brown | NC |
After connecting power and communication cables, replace the cover plate. The battery is then ready for startup.
[Diagram showing communication cable preparation, pin connections, and BMS connector pinout]Step 3: Commissioning
Commissioning is required for both the battery and the inverter.
Battery Commissioning
Use the "Be Connect App" for battery commissioning. Follow the BYD Battery-Box Premium Firmware update & Configuration Guideline for details. The app is available for iOS and Android.
Steps:
- Select "GOODWE HV" for the inverter option in the app.
- Select the battery model (e.g., HVM) and set the correct module number. For paralleled batteries, use the Master unit's module number.
Inverter Commissioning
For detailed inverter commissioning, refer to the GoodWe PV Master User Manual. Incorrect commissioning can lead to BMS communication failure.
Battery Paralleling
For detailed instructions on battery paralleling, refer to BYD instructions. This includes system wiring diagrams and internal communication wiring for paralleling multiple Battery Control Units (BCUs).
[Diagrams showing system wiring and internal communication wiring for paralleling 2 or 3 BCUs]Part 3: Wi-Fi Configuration Instruction
This section guides you through connecting the inverter to your Wi-Fi network.
Step 3. Wi-Fi Configuration Instruction
A. Preparation
- Power on the inverter or EzLogger Pro (Wi-Fi version).
- Power on your Wireless Router.
- Connect your smart device (phone/tablet) to the inverter's Wi-Fi network.
B. Connect to "Solar-WiFi"
- Connect your smart device to the Wi-Fi network named "Solar-WiFi" or "Solar-WiFi*" (where * represents the last eight digits of the inverter's SN). The default password is "12345678".
- Visit the website
http://10.10.100.253
in your smart device's browser. - Enter the username "admin" and password "admin", then click "OK".
Tip: Refresh the page if you encounter an "Unauthorization Login" error.
[Description of connecting to Solar-WiFi and logging into the configuration interface]C. Preparation (Setup Wizard)
Click "Start Setup" to launch the Wi-Fi setup wizard.
The wizard will guide you to select your current wireless network (Router SSID), enter the password, and configure other Wi-Fi parameters.
Key Information Displayed:
- Firmware version
- MAC address
- Wireless AP mode (SSID, IP address)
- Wireless STA mode (Router SSID, Encryption algorithm, Router Password)
Tip: The Wi-Fi module specification is available on the device information page.
Note: A "cannot join the network error" may occur if the router is not found, the signal is too weak, or the password is incorrect.
Selecting a Wi-Fi Network:
The interface lists available Wi-Fi networks with their SSID, Authentication/Encryption, RSSI (signal strength), and Channel. Select your network and click "Next".
Tip: If the RSSI is below 15%, the connection may be unstable. Choose a stronger signal or move closer to the router. If your router does not broadcast its SSID, click "Next" to add it manually.
[Description of the setup wizard interface, network selection, and manual network addition]D. Connect to "Solar-Wi-Fi" (Final Configuration)
Enter your wireless router's password and click "Next". Ensure all parameters match your router's settings, including case sensitivity for SSID and password.
You can also manually add a wireless network by entering its name (SSID), encryption method, and algorithm.
Tip: Ensure there are no unacceptable characters in the password to avoid configuration failure.
Click "Complete" to save the settings. The configuration takes effect after the device restarts.
