- Important: Read all instructions carefully before first use.
- Do not touch hot surfaces. Use the handles or knobs.
- Use only on a level, dry, and heat-resistant surface.
- To protect against fire, electrical shock, and injury, do not immerse the power cord, plug, or appliance in water or any other liquid. Refer to cleaning instructions.

- Do not allow the power cord to touch hot surfaces or hang over the edge of a counter or table.
- Do not place the appliance on or near a hot gas or electric burner or in a heated oven.
- Do not use the appliance for other than its intended use.
- Extreme caution must be used when moving the appliance containing hot food, oil, or liquids.
- Do not touch, cover, or obstruct the steam vent on the top of the appliance, as it is extremely hot and may cause scalding.
- Use only with a 120V AC power outlet.
- Always unplug from the plug gripping area. Never pull on the cord.
- The appliance should be operated on a separate electrical circuit from other operating appliances. An overloaded circuit may prevent proper operation.
- Always ensure the exterior of the inner pot is dry before use. A wet inner pot may damage or cause the product to malfunction.
- Use extreme caution when opening the lid during or after cooking. Hot steam will escape and may cause scalding.
- Food should not be left in the appliance on Warm mode for more than 12 hours.
- To prevent damage or deformation, do not use the inner pot on a stovetop or burner.

- CAUTION: Intended for countertop use only.
- CAUTION: Do not use for deep frying.
Short Cord Instructions: A short power-supply cord is provided to reduce the risk resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord.
WARNING: Spilled food can cause serious burns. Keep appliance & cord away from children.
NEVER:
- Drape cord over edge of counter.
- Use outlet below counter.
- Use extension cord.
Polarized Plug: This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to modify the plug.

- Dispose of plastic bags properly to prevent risks to children.
- Remove the inner pot and wash with warm, soapy water. Rinse and dry thoroughly before returning to the cooker.

To Clean
- Remove the inner pot when the cooker has completely cooled.
- Hand wash the inner pot and accessories with warm, soapy water or place on the top rack of the dishwasher.
- Wipe the cooker's body clean with a damp cloth.
- Thoroughly dry the cooker's body, inner lid, and all accessories. Reassemble for next use.
Caution Notes:
Do not use harsh abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, or products not safe for ceramic coatings. Hand washing the inner pot is recommended to prolong its lifespan. Dishwasher washing may cause slight cosmetic discoloration but will not affect performance.
Ensure the inner pot is dry and free of debris before placing it in the cooker, as moisture can cause damage or malfunction.
Troubleshooting
Rice is too dry/hard after cooking:
Add ½ to 1 cup of water and stir thoroughly. Place the lid back on and press the cook switch. Once the cooker switches to Warm, open the lid and stir. Repeat as necessary until rice is soft and moist.
Rice is too moist/soggy after cooking:
Use the serving spatula to stir the rice, redistributing the bottom (moist) part and releasing excess moisture. Leave the lid on and allow the cooker to remain on Warm mode for 10-30 minutes, opening and stirring periodically to release moisture.
Helpful Hints:
The provided rice measuring cup is equivalent to a ¾ standard U.S. cup.
Cooking Rice
- Use the provided rice measuring cup to add rice or grain to the inner pot.
- For white or brown rice, rinse for 10 seconds and drain. Repeat at least 2 times, or until water runs clear.
- For white rice, fill the inner pot with water to the line matching the number of cups of uncooked rice.
- Place the inner pot into the cooker and secure the lid.
- Plug the power cord into a 120V AC wall outlet.
- Press the cook switch down. The cook indicator light will illuminate.
- When rice is ready, the cook switch will flip up, and the cooker will switch to Warm.
- For best results, stir the rice with the serving spatula to distribute moisture.
- When finished serving, unplug the power cord.
Soup
- Add ingredients to the inner pot, up to the maximum water line (2).
- Place the pot inside the rice cooker. Leave the top open without a lid to prevent boiling over.
- Plug the power cord into a 120V AC wall outlet.
- Press the cook switch down. The cook indicator light will illuminate.
- Stir occasionally with a long-handled wooden spoon or heat-safe utensil.
- Once cooked, press the COOK switch up to Warm mode.
- When finished serving, unplug the power cord.
Caution Notes:
Do not use the provided serving spatula to stir hot soup; use a long-handled heat-safe utensil. To avoid boiling dry, do not cook soup for longer than one hour. The inner pot will be very hot after cooking; use heat-resistant gloves or oven mitts to remove it.
Steam
To steam foods while cooking rice or grain, follow steps 1-6 of "Cooking Rice".
- Add 1 cup of water to the inner pot using the provided measuring cup.
- Place the inner pot into the cooker.
- Place desired food in the provided steam tray. Use the ring to position the tray above the inner pot (see Figure B), ensuring it's placed with the correct side up. Securely cover the steam tray with the lid.
- Plug the power cord into a 120V AC wall outlet.
- Press the cook switch down. The cook indicator light will illuminate. Refer to the "Meat & Vegetable Steaming Tables" for suggested times.
- Once the suggested time has passed, carefully remove the lid and check food for doneness.
- Remove steamed food immediately. Wear protective heat-resistant gloves as the steam tray will be hot.
- When finished steaming, unplug the power cord.
Caution Note:
Before placing the inner pot into the cooker, ensure it is dry and free of debris. Adding a wet inner pot may damage the cooker.
Note:
Food can be steamed while rice cooks, but for best results, steam towards the end of the rice cooking cycle. Refer to "Rice/Grain & Water Measurement Tables" for approximate cooking times. Food should not be left on Warm mode for more than 12 hours.
Steam & Cook (Continued)
- If food is finished steaming, remove the steam tray. Wear protective heat-resistant gloves as the steam tray will be hot.
- Place the lid back on and allow the cooking cycle to continue.
- Once rice or grain is ready, the cook switch will automatically flip up, and the cooker will switch to Warm.
- When finished serving, unplug the power cord.

Helpful Hints:
Smaller foods can be placed on a heat-resistant dish on the steam tray. Parchment paper or aluminum foil can be used, placed in the center and ensuring it doesn't seal the bottom. Puncturing small holes in the paper/foil is recommended for best results. For vegetables, the amount of water does not need to increase with larger servings. Ensure meat is fully cooked to prevent food-borne illness; if uncooked, add more water and repeat steaming.
