Dishwasher Cleaning
Interior Cleaning
Clean the dishwasher at least once a year. Heavy use may require more frequent cleaning. A vinegar or citric acid bath removes soap and rinse aid from the dishwasher interior. Never use anti-freeze, Draino®, CLR® or other chemical cleaners.
- Remove all dishes from dishwasher.
- Place a dishwasher safe container with 2 cups of vinegar on the bottom rack or fill the soap compartment with citric acid crystals.
- Run a 'Normal Wash' cycle.
Controls
Keep control panel and key pads clean and free from grease.
- Turn dishwasher off.
- Wipe with a damp cloth. Do not use household cleaners.
Filters
Clean the filters at least once a year. Heavy use may require more frequent cleaning.
- Remove the lower rack.
- Rotate the filter basket handle counterclockwise to remove.
- Lift up on the filter basket handle to separate it from the fine filter.
- A flat, rectangular filter cover surrounds the filter area. Lift to remove. The vent on the filter faces the front of the unit when installed.
- Clean all components with soap and water to remove debris and build-up, then reinstall filters.
Food Waste Disposer
Cleaning the waste disposer connected to the dishwasher reduces odors. Follow the disposer manufacturer's cleaning instructions.
