Important Safety Instructions
This refrigeration appliance complies with current safety requirements. Inappropriate use can, however, lead to personal injury and material damage.
Please read the operating and installation instructions carefully before using the refrigeration appliance for the first time. They contain important information on safety, installation, use, and maintenance. This is to protect yourself from injury, and from damaging your refrigeration appliance.
Miele expressly and strongly advises that you read and follow the instructions in the chapter on installing the refrigeration appliance as well as in the “IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS”.
Miele cannot be held liable for injury or damage caused by non-compliance with these instructions.
Keep these instructions in a safe place and pass them on to any future owner.
- Ensure that any packing material is disposed of safely and kept out of the reach of children. DANGER of suffocation! ?
Technical Safety
- To avoid the risk of damage to the appliance, make sure that the connection data (fuse rating, frequency and voltage) on the data plate corresponds to the household supply. Check that this is the case before connecting the appliance. Consult a qualified electrician if in any doubt. ?
- The electrical safety of the appliance can only be guaranteed when correctly grounded. It is essential that this standard safety requirement is met. If in any doubt please have the electrical installation tested by a qualified electrician. ⚡
- If the power cord supplied is damaged, it must only be replaced by an original part to prevent a hazard for the user. Miele can only guarantee the safety of the appliance when original Miele parts are used.
- Do not connect the appliance to the electrical supply with a power bar or extension cord. These are a fire hazard and do not guarantee the required safety of the appliance. ?
- If moisture gets into electrical components or into the power cord, it could cause a short circuit. Therefore, do not operate the machine in areas where there may be moisture or splashing water (e.g., garages, laundry rooms). ?
- For safety reasons, this appliance may only be used after it has been built in.
- Unauthorized installation, maintenance, and repairs, or a faulty fresh water connection can cause considerable danger for the user. Installation, maintenance, and repairs, installation work on the fresh water connection, and all repairs on the ice/water outlet must only ever be carried out by a Miele authorized technician. ?️
Proper Installation
- When installing the refrigeration appliance, it is a mandatory requirement to follow the operating instructions supplied with the appliance.
- Risk of injury and damage. The refrigeration appliance is very heavy and must be transported by two people. ?️♀️
- Two people are required to install the appliance.
- Always wear protective gloves while transport and installing the appliance. ?
- WARNING! Risk of damage and injury due to the refrigeration appliance tipping over. This refrigeration appliance is very heavy and can tip forward when the door is open. Keep the appliance door(s) closed until the refrigeration appliance has been built in. The refrigeration appliance must be secured in its building-in niche in accordance with the operating and installation instructions.
- Change the door hinging (if necessary) as described in these installation instructions.
- Only install the refrigeration appliance in a solid, rectangular, and level housing unit, positioned on an even and level floor. ?
Installation Steps
Section 1: Door Hinging and Mounting
1.1 Prepare the appliance and the housing unit for door attachment.
1.2 Attach mounting plates to the appliance.
1.3 Attach hinges to the appliance door, ensuring correct alignment (approx. 5 mm gap).
1.4 Mount the appliance door onto the housing unit.
1.5 Adjust the door alignment as needed.
1.6 Secure the door hinges.
1.7 Install the door cover panel.
1.8 Adjust the door opening angle if necessary (e.g., to 90° or greater than 90°).
1.9 Ensure the door can open up to 180°.
1.10 Attach the door to the appliance, ensuring proper connection of the hinges.
1.11 Secure the hinge mechanism.
1.12 Check and adjust the door angle ('> 90°?' or '= 90°?').
1.13 Secure the appliance within the housing unit.
1.14 Mount the appliance door, aligning it with the housing unit.
1.15 Adjust the door for proper fit and alignment (approx. 5 mm gap).
1.16 Slide the door into place.
1.17 Secure the door with screws, ensuring proper alignment (approx. 5 mm gap).
1.18 Attach the door to the appliance.
1.19 Adjust the door hinges for optimal positioning.
1.20 Ensure the door can open up to 180°.
1.21 Connect the door to the appliance.
1.22 Secure the hinge mechanism.
1.23 Check and adjust the door angle ('> 90°?' or '= 90°?').
1.24 Final check of the installed door.
Section 2: Appliance Installation and Connection
2.1 Attach mounting brackets to the base of the housing unit using 4x15 screws.
2.2 Mount the appliance into the housing unit, aligning it with the brackets.
2.3 Secure the appliance using the provided fittings. Ensure a 90° angle.
2.4 Attach the trim piece to the top of the housing unit.
2.5 Secure the appliance using screws (4x/6x, 3x13 SW7) and brackets.
2.6 Connect the power cord to the appliance.
2.7 Ensure correct electrical connection and grounding. Refer to the manual. ✔️
2.8 Connect the appliance to the electrical outlet. Ensure proper grounding. ⚡
2.9 Slide the appliance into the housing unit.
2.10 Secure the appliance using the SW23 wrench.
2.11 Attach mounting brackets at specified depths (19 mm and 16 mm).
2.12 Insert the appliance and ensure it clicks into place. Dispose of packaging material properly. ?️
2.13 Secure the appliance with screws, ensuring correct depth (16 mm and 19 mm).
2.14 Attach the appliance to the housing unit using 6x24 screws and ensure proper alignment (approx. 5 mm gap).
2.15 Secure the appliance with 4x22 screws.
2.16 Attach the appliance door and secure it with the provided fittings.
2.17 Adjust the appliance feet using the SW23 wrench for leveling. ✔️
2.18 Secure the appliance to the wall using the provided strap and screws (ensure height is at least 140 cm). ?
2.19 Align the appliance door with the housing unit.
2.20 Cut any excess material from the door seal.
Section 3: Door Attachment and Adjustment
3.1 Attach the appliance doors to the housing unit, ensuring an 8 mm gap.
3.2 Mount the door attachment hardware.
3.3 Secure the hardware using the SW10 wrench.
3.4 Adjust the door alignment using the provided markings.
3.5 Secure the hardware with 4x15 screws.
3.6 Adjust the door hinges for proper alignment and closure.
3.7 Ensure the doors close correctly.
3.8 Adjust the door hinges to ensure proper alignment and closure (adjustments of ±3 mm to ±13 mm).
3.9 Secure the hinge mechanism.
3.10 Attach the appliance doors using 4x/6x and 4x19 screws.
3.11 Secure the doors and ensure they click into place.
