Network Topology Details

• Ethernet: Maximum distance of 328 feet (100m). Cat5e or better recommended. Cat6a required for full Gigabit at 100m. Shielded cable recommended for runs over 100 feet (30.5m).
• Speed: 10/100/1000 Mbps, typical network speed of 1 GHz.
• VLAN Configuration:
  • VLAN 1: Management/Main
  • VLAN 2: Guest, QoS-Bulk
  • VLAN 3: PoS, QoS-Priority
  • VLAN 4: Security

The network begins with an external Internet source, feeding into an Internet Service Provider Modem. From the modem, a connection is established to a Luxul Gigabit Wired Router. This router then connects to a Luxul 26-Port Managed Switch, which serves as the central distribution point for network traffic.

The Managed Switch provides wired connections to several key areas and devices within the restaurant:

• Security Cameras: Represented by a camera icon (?), indicating surveillance systems.
• Smart TVs: Represented by a monitor icon (?), for in-house entertainment or information displays.
• Distributed Audio: Represented by a music note icon (?), for background music or public address systems.
• Indoor Access Point: A flat, white device ([access point]) providing Wi-Fi coverage within the premises.
• Wireless Controller: A black, rack-mountable unit ([wireless controller]) capable of managing up to 32 access points, ensuring seamless Wi-Fi roaming and management.

The Wireless Controller is also connected to the Managed Switch and has direct links to both the Indoor and Outdoor Access Points. Power management is handled by an 8-Outlet Intelligent Power Distribution Unit ([power distribution unit]) which supplies power to the Managed Switch and the Indoor Access Point.
