Important Safety Instructions
DANGER - To reduce the risk of electric shock:
- Always unplug the machine immediately after use, when cleaning, making adjustments, or when leaving it unattended.
WARNING - To reduce the risk of burns, fire, electrical shock, or injury:
- Always unplug the machine before making adjustments.
- Unplug by switching to 'O' and grasping the plug, not the cord.
- Plug directly into the outlet; do not use an extension cord.
- Always unplug during a power failure.
- Connect only to the specified AC power source.
- Do not use flammable substances for cleaning.
- Never operate if the cord or plug is damaged, or if the machine is not working properly, has been dropped, or has had liquid spilled on it. Consult an authorized Brother dealer.
- Stop use and unplug if unusual odors, heat, discoloration, or deformation occur.

- Keep work areas clear and free of explosive or conductive dust.
- Never operate with blocked air openings. Keep ventilation clear of lint and dust.
- Do not store objects on the foot controller.
- Never insert foreign objects into openings.
- Do not operate where aerosol products are used or oxygen is administered.
- Do not use near heat sources to prevent fire or electric shock.
- Do not place on unstable surfaces.
- Pay close attention to the needle; do not use bent or damaged needles.
- Keep fingers away from moving parts, especially the needle.
- Turn the machine off ('O') before making adjustments in the needle area.
- Do not use a damaged or incorrect needle plate.
- Do not push or pull fabric while sewing; follow free-motion stitching instructions carefully to avoid needle deflection.
- This machine is not a toy. Supervise children closely.
- Keep small parts away from children to prevent accidental ingestion.
- Keep the plastic bag away from children to prevent suffocation.
- Use the seam ripper only for its intended purpose.
- Do not use outdoors.
- For longer service life, avoid direct sunlight and high humidity. Do not store near heat sources.
- Do not use cleansers or organic solvents for cleaning.
- Always consult the Operation Manual for correct installation of parts.
- For repair or adjustment, consult an authorized Brother dealer if the issue persists after troubleshooting.
