K780 Multi-Device - An Overview

CONNECT
The K780 Multi-Device Keyboard allows you to connect up to three devices, either via Bluetooth Smart or via the pre-paired Unifying USB receiver. The Unifying receiver is located in the keyboard under the battery compartment.
Quick Setup
Follow the steps below to quickly connect to your computer, laptop, or tablet. For more information on how to connect with Unifying or Bluetooth Smart, refer to the sections below.
- Step 1: Connect the Unifying receiver to a USB port on your device.
- Step 2: Press and hold one of the white Easy-Switch keys for three seconds. The indicator light on the selected channel will start blinking rapidly.
- Step 3: On your device (Mac/Windows), press the specified key combination to initiate pairing.
- Step 4: For Mac OS: Press and hold [Fn] + [O] for three seconds. For Windows, Chrome, or Android: Press and hold [Fn] + [P] for three seconds. The indicator light for the selected channel will turn on solid.
Dual Connection
The K780 allows you to connect up to three devices (computers, laptops, tablets, or smartphones) either via the Unifying receiver (2.4 GHz) or Bluetooth Smart.
Connect with Unifying
The K780 Multi-Device comes with a pre-paired receiver that provides a plug-and-play connection to your computer or laptop. You need the following to use the Unifying receiver:
- Requirements: A USB port, Unifying software, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10 or later, Mac OS X 10.10 or later, Chrome OS.
Follow these steps if you want to pair a second time with the receiver included in the box or connect to an existing Unifying receiver.
- Step 1: Download the Unifying software. (Link to software download would be placed here).
- Step 2: Ensure your keyboard is turned on.
- Step 3: Press and hold one of the white Easy-Switch keys for three seconds. The indicator light on the selected channel will start blinking rapidly.
- Step 4: Configure the keyboard according to your operating system: For Mac OS: Press and hold [Fn] + [O] for three seconds. The indicator light for the selected channel will turn on. For Windows, Chrome, or Android: Press and hold [Fn] + [P] for three seconds. The indicator light for the selected channel will turn on.
- Step 5: Connect the Unifying receiver.
- Step 6: Open the Unifying software and follow the on-screen instructions.
Connect via Bluetooth® SMART
The K780 Multi-Device Keyboard allows you to connect via Bluetooth Smart. Ensure your device is ready for Bluetooth Smart and uses one of the following operating systems:
- Requirements: Windows 8 or later, Mac OS X 10.10 or later, iOS 5 or later, Android 5.0 or later, Chrome OS.
How to Connect
- Step 1: Ensure your K780 Multi-Device is turned on and that Bluetooth is enabled on your computer, tablet, or phone.
- Step 2: Press and hold one of the Easy-Switch keys for three seconds. The indicator light on the selected channel will start blinking rapidly.
- Step 3: Open the Bluetooth settings on your device and pair with "Keyboard K780".
- Step 4: Enter your passcode on the screen and press Enter or Return.

DUAL LAYOUT
Unique double-printed keycaps make the K780 keyboard compatible with different operating systems (e.g., Mac OS X, iOS, Windows, Chrome, Android). The keycap color coding and dividing lines identify functions or symbols reserved for different operating systems.
Keycap Color Coding
Gray labels indicate functions available on Apple devices running Mac OS X or iOS.
White labels on gray circles identify symbols reserved for use with Alt Gr on Windows computers.
Reserved Key Designations
For Mac OS X or iOS: Gray labels indicate functions for Apple devices.
Example: [Z] + [Alt Gr] = [<<]
For Windows: White labels on gray circles indicate symbols reserved for use with Alt Gr.
Example: [M] + [Alt Gr] = [μ]
Shared Key Designations
Modifier keys on either side of the spacebar show two sets of labels separated by dividing lines. The label above the dividing line indicates the modifier sent to a Windows or Android device. The label below the dividing line indicates the modifier sent to an Apple computer, iPhone, or iPad. The keyboard automatically uses modifiers associated with the currently selected device.

How to Configure Your Keyboard
Press one of the following shortcuts for three seconds to configure the layout for your operating system.
- iOS: [Fn] + [I]
- Mac OS X: [Fn] + [O]
- Windows: [Fn] + [P]
The indicator light for the selected channel will turn on to confirm when the layout has been configured.
Note! If you connect via Bluetooth Smart, this step is not necessary. OS Detection configures the layout automatically.
