Installation and Connection
General
Contact the Authorized Service Centre for any problems. Remove the appliance from packaging only at the time of installation to prevent damage.
Preparing for Installation
WARNING: This is a heavy product; installation requires two or more people.
Maintain minimum distances between the hood and the hob: 65 cm for gas/other fuels, 50 cm for electric cookers. Check cooker manual for specific requirements. If the cooker instructions specify a greater distance, observe that.
Electrical Connection
Ensure the appliance's power voltage matches the mains voltage (check rating plate inside the hood). Power cable replacement (type H05 VV-F) requires a qualified electrician. If fitted with a plug, connect to an accessible, compliant socket.
WARNING: If direct wiring is used or the socket is inaccessible, a qualified electrician must install a standardised double pole power switch for complete isolation from the mains.
Use
The hood can be used for "Extraction installation" (venting air outside) or "Recirculation installation" (filtering and returning air indoors).
Extraction Installation
Cooking steam is channeled outside via a discharge duct (not supplied) connected to the hood's steam outlet. Ensure the duct is correctly fitted.
Important: Remove charcoal filters if already installed.
Recirculation Installation
Important: Ensure adequate air circulation around the hood.
Important: If charcoal filters are not supplied, they must be fitted before use. Filters are available at IKEA shops.
Install the hood away from dirty areas, windows, doors, and heat sources.
Wall fixing accessories are not included as wall materials vary. Use appropriate fixing systems for your walls and the appliance's weight. Consult a specialized dealer for details.

Cleaning and Maintenance
WARNING: Never use steam cleaning equipment. Always disconnect the power supply before cleaning.
IMPORTANT: Do not use corrosive or abrasive detergents. Clean spills immediately with a damp cloth.
Clean surfaces with a damp cloth. For heavy dirt, add a few drops of dish soap to water and finish with a dry cloth.
IMPORTANT: Do not use abrasive sponges or metallic scrapers, as they can damage the surface.
Use detergents specifically designed for the appliance and follow manufacturer instructions.
IMPORTANT: Clean filters at least monthly to remove oil and grease.
Grease Filter Cleaning
The metal grease filter has unlimited life and should be washed monthly by hand or in a dishwasher (low temperature, short cycle). Dishwasher cleaning may dull the filter but does not affect its capacity.
Grease filter maintenance steps:
- Unplug or disconnect the power supply.
- Remove grease filters by pulling the spring release handle downwards.
- After cleaning, remount filters in reverse order, ensuring full coverage.
Charcoal Filter Maintenance (Recirculation Installation)
Unlike traditional filters, this charcoal filter can be washed and reactivated.
Steps:
- Disconnect power supply.
- Remove grease filter.
- If carbon filters are fitted, turn the central handle anti-clockwise to unlock and replace them.
- Open filter shells, pull out circular mats, and fit new filters.
- Refit grease filters.
Care and cleaning long life Charcoal filter: Wash and regenerate the anti-odour filter every 3-4 months (or more frequently with intensive use), up to a maximum of 8 regeneration cycles.
Regeneration procedure: Wash in dishwasher (max 70°C) or hand wash in hot water without detergents or abrasive sponges. Dry in oven (max 70°C for 2 hours) or at room temperature, standing vertically.
Lamp Maintenance
Disconnect power. Open extractor grille or remove grease filter. Replace damaged lamp with E14 3W max LED lamps only. Do not touch the lamp with bare hands.
