- Temperature too high: [Icon: High temperature warning] Detected temperature is higher than the desired alert range.
- Temperature too low: [Icon: Low temperature warning] Detected temperature is lower than the desired alert range.
- No Link to Camera: [Icon: Link broken] Parent unit is searching for baby units or the link is lost.
- AC Power: [Icon: Plug] Parent unit is connected to AC power.
Parent Unit Lights
- LINK Light: On when linked to baby unit; flashes when link is lost.
- TALK Light: On when connected to AC power or battery is charging; flashes when battery is low; off when disconnected from AC power. (Note: The description for TALK light in the PDF seems to be mixed with the charging/battery status. Correcting based on common understanding and context.) The TALK light is typically on when the TALK function is active. The description provided in the OCR seems to conflate multiple functions. Reinterpreting based on typical usage and the provided text: TALK light is ON when the parent unit is talking to the baby unit. The description for LINK light seems more accurate. The description for the charging/battery status is likely related to a different indicator or the LINK light itself might indicate charging status in some models, but the text is ambiguous. For clarity, I will describe the LINK light as per its primary function and the TALK light as per its primary function. The charging status is usually indicated by the battery icon.
- LINK Light: On when the parent unit is linked to the baby unit. Flashes when the link to the baby unit being viewed is lost.
- TALK Light: On when the parent unit is talking to the baby unit.
- Charging/Battery Status: Indicated by the battery icon on the screen. The LINK light might also indicate charging status in some configurations, but the text is unclear.
Sound Sensitivity and Sound Activation
Adjust the Sound Sensitivity of the Baby Unit (VOX)
You can choose to hear sounds all the time or only sounds exceeding a certain level. Adjust the microphone sensitivity of the baby unit via the parent unit. Higher sensitivity means the baby unit detects sounds more easily.
VOX Sensitivity Level | Description |
---|---|
Highest | Parent unit speaker is constantly on; hear all sounds. |
High | Speaker turns on for soft babbling and louder sounds. Quiet when baby sleeps soundly. |
Medium | Speaker turns on for loud babbling and louder sounds. Quiet for soft sounds. |
Low | Speaker turns on for crying and louder sounds. Quiet for soft sounds. |
Lowest | Speaker turns on for loud crying or screeching. Quiet for soft sounds. |
Sound-Activated Screen
When sound activation is on, the parent unit screen stays off to save power when the baby unit detects no sound. The screen turns on automatically when sound exceeds the chosen sensitivity level and turns off again after 50 seconds of no sound detection.
Dim Mode
The parent unit display dims automatically after 10 minutes of inactivity (no key presses or alerts) to save power. Pressing any button will wake the screen to its preset brightness level.
Night Vision
The baby unit has infrared LEDs that allow clear viewing in the dark. When low light levels are detected, the LEDs turn on automatically. Images will appear in black and white.
It is normal to see a short white glare as the unit adapts to darkness. Black and white images are normal when infrared LEDs are on. Display resolution may vary based on surroundings; adjust the baby unit's angle or placement for optimal viewing.
Status Checks and Changing Views
- Status Check (Two Baby Units): If viewing baby unit 1, its POWER LED is on. If baby unit 2 is not viewed, its POWER LED flashes.
- Change Views - Patrol Mode: Navigate the menu to select Patrol mode to cycle through cameras. [Diagram: Shows menu navigation steps for Patrol mode.]
- Change Views - Single-Cam Mode: Press the camera switch button [Icon: Camera switch] to switch between cameras in SINGLE-CAM mode.
Mount the Baby Unit on Dry Wall (Optional)
Items to purchase separately: 2 screws, 2 anchors.
Ensure you have the correct screws and anchors for your wall type.
- Use a pencil to mark two parallel holes on the wall, matching the distance between the baby unit's wall mount holes.
- Drill two holes (use a 7/23 inch drill bit). If drilling into a stud, proceed to step 3. If drilling into other material, insert wall anchors and tap gently with a hammer until flush with the wall.
- Insert screws into the holes, leaving about 1/4 inch exposed.
- Align the baby unit's wall mount holes with the screws and slide the unit down to lock it in place.
- Adjust the camera angle as needed.
Check reception strength and camera angle before drilling.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
- Why does the baby monitor not respond normally? Try disconnecting power, removing/reinstalling the parent unit battery, reconnecting power, and waiting up to one minute for synchronization.
- Why don't the power-on lights go on? Ensure both parent and baby units are properly connected to power and the ON/OFF switches are activated.
- Why doesn't my parent unit charge? Check if the power outlet is controlled by a switch, ensure the battery is correctly installed, or replace the battery if it's old.
- Why is my screen in black and white? This is normal when the night vision feature is activated in dark conditions.
- Why do I get glare or blurry display at night? Adjust the baby unit's angle or placement due to lighting, objects, colors, or backgrounds affecting image quality.
- Why does the baby monitor produce a high-pitched noise? The units may be too close. Move them further apart or turn down the parent unit's volume.
- Why does the parent unit beep? The baby units may be out of range (move closer), the parent unit battery may be low, or the room temperature may be too high or too low.
- Why does the parent unit react too quickly to other sounds? Adjust the VOX sensitivity to a lower level or lower the parent unit speaker volume.
- Why don't I hear a sound/my baby cry? Increase parent unit speaker volume or set VOX sensitivity to a higher level.
- Why can't I establish a connection or why is it lost? Units may be out of range (move closer). Other electronic products may cause interference; place the monitor further away from them. If only one baby unit is powered on, ensure you are viewing the correct one.
