Binding Procedure
- Plug USB into the flight controller and connect to Betaflight configurator.
- Go to the CLI command tab and type
bind_rx
or go to the Receiver tab and click Bind Receiver. The red LED on the flight controller will blink fast, indicating it's in bind mode. - Turn on your radio transmitter running ELRS.LUA v2. Scroll down the menu and hit [Bind]. The red LED on the flight controller will turn solid, then blink slowly, indicating a successful bind. Reconnect the USB to establish the link.
Entering CLI Mode: Type exit
to return, or help
for assistance.

Receiver Configuration
In Betaflight Configurator, go to the Configuration tab. Set Receiver mode to SPI RX Support and select EXPRESSLRS from the SPI Bus Receiver Provider list. Do not enable Serial RX as the flight controller has an integrated SPI BUS Receiver.
Note: The SPI RX provider functions only if the required hardware is present or connected to an SPI bus.
Receiver Mode: EXPRESSLRS ✓ SPI Bus Receiver Provider
RSSI (Signal Strength): RSSI_ADC Analog RSSI input. RSSI Channel: Disabled.

Arm/Disarm the Motor
- The default Arm/Disarm switch for Crux3 is AUX1 (Channel 5). This can be customized in Betaflight Configurator.
- Turn on the Radio transmitter with the ELRS TX module installed. Navigate to the MIXES interface and set CH5 to "SF" or another aux channel for ARM/DISARM.
- The default channel map for the Crux3 ELRS version is TAER1234. Ensure your transmitter matches this map for successful arming. Toggle the AUX1 switch; the green LED on the flight controller will become solid, indicating the motor is armed. You will also see an "Armed" notification on your FPV goggles or monitor. Ensure the Crux3 is level before arming.

Current mode settings: ARM AUX 1 (Min: 1300, Max: 2100), HORIZON AUX 2 (Min: 1200, Max: 1550), AIR MODE AUX 2 (Min: 1550, Max: 2100)
Toggle the AUX1 Switch, the Green LED on the Flight controller will getting to be solid.
Propeller Installation
Props Out
- Fix the CW propeller onto the M2 and M3 motors (CW motors).
- Fix the CCW propellers onto the M1 and M4 motors (CCW motors).
Firmware Update
Flight controller firmware update:
- Install the latest STM32 Virtual COM Port Driver from ST.com.
- Install STM BOOTLOAD Driver (STM Device in DFU MODE).
- Open Betaflight configurator, go to Firmware flasher, and select Load firmware [Local].
- Enter DFU Mode: Press the boot button then plug in the USB, or flash firmware via Betaflight Configurator, which automatically enters DFU Mode.
- Use Zadig tools to replace the drivers from STM32 Bootloader to WINUSB Driver.
- Reconnect the flight controller after driver replacement and flash the firmware using Betaflight Configurator.
Note: As Betaflight has not released an official version for CRAZYBEEF4SX1280, download the firmware from the Happymodel website. The target CRAZYBEEF4SX1280 will be included in a future official release.

BLHeliSuite Configuration
- Download the latest Blhelisuite from Mediafire.
- Plug in the USB and connect the flight controller to the computer. Connect the battery for Crux3 1S ELRS.
- Open Device Manager, find Ports, and ensure the Com port Serial Number is under 255. If not, change it using the provided steps.
- Open BLHELISUITE, select SILABS BLHeli Bootloader (Cleanflight) from the third tab, choose the correct Serial com port, and click connect. You can also flash the new release BLHeli_s firmware via BLHEILISUITE; the firmware target is “O 05 -H- ”.
OSD Menu Settings
To use Channel 57, go to Betaflight CLI and type the following commands:
Set VTX band 5 _ =
Set VTX channel 4 _ =
save
Disarm the drone. Move the transmitter sticks: THR MID, YAW LEFT, PITCH UP to enter the OSD Menu. Navigate to Features, then VTX SA to set VTX Band and channel.
