Product Overview
This document provides technical details for the RS PRO range of single-function time relays, including models 360688, 360689, and 360698. These relays are designed for various timing applications in industrial and electrical control systems.
Key Components and Terminals
The relays feature the following key components and connection terminals:
- Control Input (S): Terminal for receiving the control signal.
- Supply Voltage Terminals (A1-A2): For connecting the power supply (AC/DC 12-240 V).
- Output Contact 1 (15-16-18): Provides the switching output. Terminal 15 is common, 16 is normally closed, and 18 is normally open.
- Time Range Setting: A potentiometer for adjusting the primary time delay.
- Fine Time Setting: An additional control for precise time adjustment.
- Supply Voltage Indication: An indicator light confirming power supply presence.
- Operating State Indicators: LED indicators display the current status of the relay (e.g., ON, OFF, timing).
Connection and Operation
Wiring Diagram Description: The relay connects to a 1-phase AC/DC 12-240 V supply via terminals A1-A2. The control signal is applied to terminal S. The output contacts are 15 (common), 16 (normally closed), and 18 (normally open).
Load Connection to Control Input: A load (e.g., contactor, indicator light) can be connected in parallel between terminals S and A2 without disrupting the relay's function. This load receives power when the control input is active.
Operating States
The relay's status is indicated by LEDs:
- OFF, timing: The relay is in an OFF state, and a time delay is currently active.
- ON, timing: The relay is in an ON state, and a time delay is currently active.
- p (pause): Indicates a pause in the timing sequence (function-dependent).
Timing Functions
The relays support the following primary timing functions:
ZR: ON DELAY
The output switches ON after a set time delay (T) has elapsed since the control signal was applied to terminal S. The total delay T is determined by the sum of t1 and t2, adjustable via potentiometers.
ON DELAY with Inhibit: A variant where an inhibit signal can modify or pause the timing sequence.
ZN: INTERVAL ON
The output switches ON after a set time delay (T) and remains ON for a specified duration before switching OFF. The diagram shows the output turning ON after delay T.
INTERVAL ON with Inhibit: A variant where an inhibit signal can modify or pause the timing sequence.
OD: OFF DELAY
The output switches ON immediately upon application of the control signal. When the control signal is removed, a set time delay (T) begins, after which the output switches OFF.
Function Initiation: Functions like ZR and ZN are initiated upon connection of the supply voltage. If the supply voltage is interrupted and then restored, the relay will automatically execute one cycle.
