The Govee Dreamcolor Wi-Fi TV Backlights Kit (H6104) includes an LED strip light, a control box, and a camera. The LED strip is coiled for storage and features adhesive backing. The control box connects the LED strip, camera, and power. The camera is designed to be mounted on top of the TV. The system is controlled via the Govee Home app, which displays options for brightness, DIY modes, various lighting modes (Music, Video, Color, Scenes), and sound rhythm effects (Energic, Rhythm, Spectrum, Rolling).

Installing your LED strip light
- Wipe the surface: Ensure the back of your TV is clean and dry before installation.
- Stick strip light: Apply the LED strip light firmly to the back of the TV. Reinforce it with clips. When facing the back of the TV, set up the lights clockwise.
- Fix camera: Mount the camera on the top middle of the TV.
- Plug the USB into corresponding ports: Follow the plugging sequence: LED port → Camera port → DC port. The control box has clearly labeled ports for LED, CAM, and DC.
- Place control box: Position the control box in a suitable location on your TV.
- Power on and connect: Power on the strip light and attempt to connect it with the Govee Home APP.
Downloading the Govee Home App
What you need:
- A Wi-Fi router supporting 2.4GHz and 802.11 b/g/n standards. 5GHz band is not supported. Verify your Wi-Fi settings before connecting.
- A smartphone or tablet connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network.
- A smartphone or tablet running iOS 9.3 (or above) or Android 4.3 (or above).
The Govee Home App is available for download on the App Store and Google Play.
Connecting the Govee Home App with TV LED Strip Light
- Open the Govee Home app, tap the "+" icon at the top right corner, and select "H6104".
- Name your strip light. The device name should consist only of English letters, without punctuation marks or numbers (e.g., "1,2,3,#,$@...").
- Select a 2.4G Wi-Fi network and enter the password.
Calibrating the camera on Govee Home APP
- Ensure the camera is set up on the top middle of the TV.
- Stick auxiliary tapes on the four front corners of your TV screen. These tapes serve as calibration points.
- Open the Govee Home APP and follow the in-app instructions to complete the calibration process. The app will guide you to align calibration points on the TV screen.
- Remove the auxiliary tapes once the strip light is functioning correctly after calibration.
Tips: The image displayed through the fish-eye camera may appear twisted. Ensure calibration points are chosen correctly and calibration lines do not overlap or cross each other. Incorrect calibration lines will prevent proper color matching.
Connecting Alexa with Your TV Backlight
- Open the Alexa APP after calibration is complete.
- Open skills and search for "Govee Home".
- Enter your Govee Home account and password to authorize the connection.
- Return to the Smart Home page and update the device list.
- Find your new TV Backlight device to complete the connection.
Troubleshooting
1. The strip light doesn't light up.
- a. Check physical connections: Re-plug the power adapter and the DC port to ensure the control box is powered on correctly. The strip light should illuminate within 10 seconds of being powered on.
- b. Check LED strip and camera connections: Ensure the strip light is plugged into the LED port and the camera into the CAM port on the control box.
- c. Power sequence: Make sure the strip light is plugged into the LED port before the device is powered on.
- d. Reboot power adapter: If the strip light was working correctly and you unplugged it, reboot the power adapter.
2. Calibration fails.
- a. Recalibrate: Attempt to calibrate the strip light again.
- b. Avoid strong light: Prevent strong external light from interfering with the camera during calibration.
- c. Calibration point placement: Calibration points cannot be chosen across the entire screen area. For example, the top point of your TV cannot be dragged to the bottom. Calibration lines must not overlap or cross each other.
- d. Wi-Fi connection: Calibration is only allowed after the strip lights are connected to Wi-Fi.
3. Adhesive issue.
- a. Clean surface: Wipe the setup surface to ensure it is clean and dry.
- b. Firm application: Stick the strip light onto the surface and press it firmly.
- c. Reinforce: Use clips or other tapes to reinforce the strip light's adhesion.
4. Calibration issue & Picture uploading fails.
- Check whether the Wi-Fi connection is stable via your smartphone.
5. Wi-Fi connection issue.
- a. Do not skip Wi-Fi setup: During setup, do not skip the Wi-Fi connection step. Enter the correct Wi-Fi name and password as per the app instructions.
- b. 5GHz Wi-Fi not supported: 5GHz Wi-Fi is not supported. Connect the strip light to a 2.4G Wi-Fi network and reboot your router.
- c. Stable connection: Check whether the Wi-Fi connection is stable via your smartphone.
- d. Wi-Fi name/password compatibility: If the strip light is not compatible with your Wi-Fi name or password, change your Wi-Fi name and password to a simpler one (e.g., combination of letters and numbers).
- e. Router compatibility: If the strip light is not compatible with your router, try connecting the strip lights to your phone's hotspot.
