Introduction
Thank you for choosing the Albrecht DR 112 DAB+/FM radio with SOS function. This user manual is an integral part of the product and contains important instructions for operation and use. Please keep this manual for future reference.
The Albrecht DR 112 is equipped with emergency features. Before use, ensure the integrated battery is fully charged using the supplied USB-C cable. Connect to a computer or a suitable 5V DC USB power adapter.
For optimal reception, fully extend the telescopic antenna before tuning. To turn on the radio, press and hold the Power On/Off button. Upon first use, the system will prompt you to select a menu language. Use the navigation buttons (◀️ ▶️) to select your preferred language and press OK (✔️) to confirm. The radio will then automatically scan for available DAB stations. Playback will begin with the first tuned station.

Controls on the Radio
- 1. Display: Shows operating information, such as the currently playing station or song title.
- 2. Telescopic Antenna: Extend fully for optimal DAB+/FM signal reception.
- 3. Power On/Off/Mode (⚡): Short press: Turn on radio / Switch between operating modes (DAB, FM, Bluetooth). Long press: Enter standby mode / Fully power off the radio from standby.
- 4. PRESET: Short press: Cycle through memory presets. Long press: Save the currently tuned station as a preset.
- 5. SETTINGS (⚙️): Short press: Browse different text information. Long press: Enter the main menu.
- 6. OK (✔️): Short press: Confirm and save selections within a menu. Long press: Start automatic tuning of available DAB stations.
- 7. Navigation Button (▶️): DAB: Move to the next station. FM: Short press to tune to the next frequency in 0.05 MHz steps; long press to scan for the next station.
- 8. Navigation Button (◀️): DAB: Return to the previous station. FM: Short press to tune to the previous frequency in 0.05 MHz steps; long press to scan for the previous station.
- 9. VOLUME + (?➕): Increase listening volume.
- 10. VOLUME - (?➖): Decrease listening volume.
Top/Side Controls
- 11. Flashlight/Reading Light: Short press to activate the flashlight. Further presses change modes. If the solar panel is extended, this button activates the reading light under the panel.
- 12. Thermometer (?️): Displays the current temperature in Celsius.
- 13. Flashlight: A powerful light source.
- 14. Emergency Light: Activated by the SOS button.
- 15. USB-C Port / Headphone Jack (?): Charging port for the internal battery or connecting USB-C headphones.
- 16. USB Output: Power bank function to charge external mobile devices like smartphones or tablets.
- 17. Reset Button: Resets the radio system to factory settings in case of software malfunction.
- 18. Charging LED Indicator: A red LED lights up while the internal battery is charging. It turns off when the battery is fully charged.
- 19. SOS Button (?): Pressing this button activates a loud audible alarm and the emergency light.
- 20. Tripod Mount (?): A 1/4" thread for mounting the radio on a stand.
Other Features
- 21. Crank Handle: Rotate this handle to manually charge the radio's internal battery.
- 22. Solar Panel (☀️): Extend the solar panel and orient it towards maximum sunlight to charge the internal battery. Avoid shading the panel.
Operation Modes
Standby Mode
To turn off the radio and switch to standby mode, press and hold the Power On/Off button. A short press turns the radio back on. To completely power off the radio and conserve battery, press and hold the Power On/Off button while in standby mode. Note: When fully powered off, the alarm function will not operate. In standby mode, a short press of SETTINGS (⚙️) displays alarm information; a further press of OK (✔️) enters alarm setup.
Mode Selection
After turning on the radio, short press the Power On/Off button (⚡) to cycle through the operating modes: DAB+ (digital radio), FM (analog radio), or Bluetooth (?) for music streaming.
DAB+ Radio Mode
In this mode, you can tune to digital radio stations. Use navigation buttons (◀️ ▶️) to browse the station list. Long press SETTINGS (⚙️) to enter the main menu for further options. Use navigation buttons (◀️ ▶️) to browse menu items and OK (✔️) to confirm. Press SETTINGS (⚙️) again to exit the menu.
DAB Tuning:
The radio automatically scans for all available digital stations in the BAND III spectrum upon first entry into DAB mode. To re-scan at any time, press and hold the OK (✔️) button for approximately 2 seconds. If previously used, the tuner will play the last tuned station.
Station List:
After tuning, the display shows a list of all available stations. Use navigation buttons (◀️ ▶️) to browse the list. Press OK (✔️) to listen to a selected station.
Saving Favorite Stations (Preset Function):
Tune to your favorite station. Press and hold the PRESET button for about 2 seconds. To recall a saved preset, briefly press the PRESET button.
DAB Menu Structure:
- Trim invalid stations: Removes inactive stations from the list, useful when moving to a different reception area.
- Station order: Sorts the station list by name or frequency.
- DRC (Dynamic Range Control): Adjusts sound dynamic range, reducing volume differences between loud and quiet passages.
- Manual tune: Manually tune to a specific DAB frequency.
FM Radio Mode
Tune to analog FM stations. Use navigation buttons (◀️ ▶️) to browse stations. Long press SETTINGS (⚙️) to access the menu for this mode. Use navigation buttons (◀️ ▶️) to browse menu items and OK (✔️) to confirm. Press SETTINGS (⚙️) to exit the menu and return to normal display.
FM Tuning:
To scan all available FM stations, press and hold the OK (✔️) button. All successfully tuned stations are automatically saved to an internal list.
Manual FM Tuning:
Use the navigation buttons (◀️ ▶️) to manually tune to a specific frequency. Each short press moves the frequency by 0.05 MHz.
Saving Favorite Stations (Preset Function):
Tune to your favorite station. Press and hold the PRESET button for about 2 seconds. To recall a saved preset, briefly press the PRESET button.
FM Menu Structure:
- Scan settings: Configure the radio tuner to scan only stations with a strong signal ("Strong stations only") or all stations ("All stations"), including those with weaker signals.
- Audio settings: Select Stereo or Mono reception. For weak or noisy signals, switching to "Mono" is recommended to improve listening quality.
Bluetooth Mode (?)
Play music from a paired device (e.g., your smartphone). Activate Bluetooth on your device and the radio (using the Power On/Off button). Select "ALBRECHT DR 112" from the list of wireless devices on your smartphone. Follow the instructions provided with your device.
System Settings
Accessible from any operating mode.
- Alarm (Budík): Set up to 2 independent alarms. Choose alarm frequency: "Daily", "Weekdays", or "Weekends". Alarm source can be DAB or FM.
- Backlight: Configure display brightness "Level" and "Timeout" duration before the display turns off.
- Time Setup: Set the current time and date. Supports 12/24 hour format and date format. The radio can automatically set the correct time from DAB or FM broadcasts.
- OSD Language: Select the main menu language from English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Dutch, Finnish, and Polish.
- Factory Reset: Resets the radio system to default settings, erasing all user configurations.
- Software Version: Displays the current software version of the radio system.
Battery Charging
- Solar Panel Charging (☀️): Install the radio in direct sunlight, positioning the solar panel for optimal exposure. Avoid shading. Partial cloudiness significantly reduces charging power; artificial light sources are insufficient. Approximately 1 hour of solar charging provides about 20 minutes of radio operation or 1 hour of LED flashlight use.
- Crank Charging (⚙️): Pull out the crank handle and rotate it in any direction. For optimal charging, rotate at 120-150 RPM (2-2.5 rotations per second). 1 minute of cranking provides 3 minutes of radio operation.
- USB-C Charging (?): Use the supplied USB-C to USB-A cable. Connect to a USB power source (5V/2A). The red LED indicator (?) shows charging status and turns off when fully charged. Note: Radio reception quality may be affected during charging.
Emergency Features
SOS Function (?)
Use this function in an emergency to alert people nearby. Press and hold the SOS button on the bottom of the radio. The system will generate a loud audible alarm and flash a red signal light. Warning: The SOS siren is very loud and can cause hearing damage with prolonged exposure. Keep the radio at a distance when activating. The SOS function significantly drains the battery.
Flashlight Function
Press the button on the top of the radio to turn the flashlight on. Press again to turn it off. If the solar panel is extended, this button activates the reading light under the panel, which has 3 adjustable brightness levels.
Troubleshooting
Problem | Possible Cause & Solution |

Safety, Maintenance, and Cleaning
- For safety and registration (CE) reasons, do not attempt any modifications to the outdoor radio. Refer any repairs to qualified service personnel.
- Do not expose the product to excessive moisture, immerse it in water, or expose it to vibrations, shocks, or direct sunlight.
- This product and its accessories are not children's toys and should be kept out of reach of small children.
- Do not leave packaging materials lying around. Plastic films can be a hazard to children if swallowed.
- If you encounter difficulties using this product or cannot find the necessary information in this manual, contact our technical support or a qualified expert.
- Clean the casing using only a soft, slightly damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or chemical solvents (paint thinners, etc.), as these may damage the display and casing.
- Battery Handling: Do not leave batteries (rechargeable or otherwise) lying around unsupervised, as children or pets could swallow them. Seek immediate medical attention if a battery is swallowed. Keep batteries out of reach of children. Leaked or damaged batteries can cause skin irritation; wear protective gloves if handling them. Do not short-circuit, incinerate, or attempt to recharge non-rechargeable batteries, as this poses an explosion risk. Only recharge the supplied rechargeable battery. Dispose of used batteries as special waste, not in household waste, to protect the environment. Special collection bins are available in electronics stores and recycling centers.
