Key Features and Operation
The PRO-2050 is designed to track various Motorola ${ }^{ ext {TM }}$ trunking systems, including analog and hybrid systems. It efficiently manages trunked communications by monitoring data channels and switching to active frequencies, allowing you to follow conversations seamlessly.
Beyond trunking, this scanner supports conventional transmissions and includes pre-programmed service-search banks for quick access to common public service frequencies. Explore over 30,000 frequencies used by emergency services, amateur radio, and more.
Advanced Functionality
- Ten Channel-Storage Banks: Organize up to 30 channels per bank for easier identification of calls.
- Five Scan Lists: Store up to 50 IDs per tracking bank, totaling 500 IDs.
- Triple-Conversion Circuitry: Minimizes interference for clearer reception.
- HyperSearch ${ }^{ ext {TM }}$ and HyperScan ${ }^{ ext {TM }}$: Achieve rapid scanning and searching speeds.
- Data Signal Skip: Avoid non-voice signals for faster scanning.
- Priority Channels: Program key channels to monitor frequently.
- Lock-Out Function: Skip specified channels, frequencies, or IDs.
- Manual Access: Directly tune to any stored channel.
Connectivity and Setup
The scanner can be powered via AC adapter or a vehicle's battery using an optional DC cigarette lighter power cable. For enhanced reception, connect an external antenna to the ANT. jack. An external speaker or headphones can be connected for private listening.
Antenna Adjustment: For optimal reception, adjust the supplied telescoping antenna's length based on the frequency range:
- 29-54 MHz: Extend fully
- 108-174 MHz: Collapse one segment
- 406-956 MHz: Collapse both segments
Important Notices
- FCC Compliance: This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. Ensure it does not cause harmful interference.
- Legal Scanning: While most transmissions are legal to listen to, intercepting telephone conversations, pager transmissions, or encrypted/scrambled communications is prohibited by federal law.
- Listening Safely: Protect your hearing by setting the volume to a comfortable level and avoiding prolonged high-volume listening.
