Installation and Compatibility

Installation Notes

For system design specifications, refer to the BVMS architects and engineering specifications, system design guide, and quick installation guide. The BVMS upgrade guide assists with upgrading existing installations, and the BVMS security guide helps enhance system security. The datasheet is subject to change, with the English version being the most up-to-date.

Device Compatibility

BVMS has evolved to recognize new Bosch video encoders and decoders as generic devices, automatically identifying specific functionalities like stream counts, relays, and inputs. This allows for the integration of previously unknown devices into the system.

Firmware and Software Versions

The document lists tested firmware and software versions, including:

  • Camera firmware
  • Firmware MPEG-4, CPP3, CPP4, CPP5, CPP6, CPP7, CPP7.3, Aviotec, CPP-ENC, X1/X2
  • Decoder firmware (VIP XD HD, VIP XD, VJD 7000, VJD 8000)
  • Barco RCP+ Agent
  • Monitor Wall
  • VRM, VSG, BIS, AMS, BRS, TRS
  • Embedded components (iOS, Web Client, Intuikey Keyboard)
  • SQL Server, BVMS Hardening Tool, ONVIF Event driver tool, VideoSDK, RCPP
  • DVRs (DiBos, DVR FW Version, Allegiant MCS, Cameo SDK, BVMS SDK)
  • .NET framework
  • Operating systems for Operator Client, Configuration Client, Management Server, Mobile Video Service, and Video Recording Manager.

DIVAR IP Compatibility

Specific BVMS versions are supported on various DIVAR IP devices across different generations, including DIVAR IP 3000, 7000, AiO 5000, and AiO 7000.

Hardware Drivers

Recommended NVIDIA Quadro and Intel Graphics drivers are listed to ensure reliable software performance. Bosch advises using the specified driver versions to avoid potential issues, such as those with H.265 decoding on certain Intel drivers.

Virtualization Support

BVMS supports virtualization with Microsoft (Hyper-V) and VMware. While the Video Recording Manager (VRM) can be virtualized, virtualization fail-over mechanisms are not supported for VRM. It is recommended to run Master VRM and Failover VRM in separate virtual machines with virtualization fail-over mechanisms disabled.
