Appearance

The doorbell has the following components:

• 1 Microphone
• 2 Lens
• 3 Motion Sensor (PIR)
• 4 IR LED
• 5 Ring Button
• 6 Status LED
• 7 Speaker
• 8 RESET Button: Press and hold for about 5 seconds to reset the doorbell.
• 9 USB Type-C Port
• 10 microSD Card Slot: Insert a microSD card. Initialize it on the Tapo app for local recording. (*microSD card not included)

Preparations for Installing Your Doorbell

Before installing the new doorbell, remove your existing doorbell, and determine if you need a mounting wedge to adjust the viewing angle of the doorbell.

1. Install the doorbell on a flat and clean wall.
2. The doorbell should be placed 1.2 m (4 ft) above the ground.
3. (Optional) Use the included 15° mounting wedge for a more focused view from a specific side.
   • Without Mounting Wedge: The view is standard.
   • With Mounting Wedge: The view is angled 15° upwards or downwards.
   • With Mounting Wedge (Flip 180°): The view is angled 15° in the opposite direction.
4. Avoid placing the doorbell close to a side wall in the field of view. If you must, use the mounting wedge to adjust the viewing angle to reduce reflected light from the wall for better night vision performance.

Install Your Doorbell

Option 1: Stick to a smooth wall

1. Press the top of the mounting bracket and push down to separate it from the doorbell. Attach the included adhesive to the bracket or wedge. If you use the wedge to adjust the angle, first affix the bracket and the wedge with the mounting wedge screws.

   Note: The adhesive is for one-time use. Avoid re-using the adhesive to ensure its adhesion.

2. Wipe the surface with a dry cloth, stick the bracket (or bracket with wedge) with adhesive to a clean wall, and press for 15 seconds to ensure it's firmly attached. Attach the doorbell to the bracket, sliding down to the bottom until it clicks into place. Then tighten the screw at the bottom to secure the doorbell.

   Note: This is applicable with tile, glass, marble, metal, stainless steel, and smooth wall surfaces.

Option 2: Mount to the wall

1. Stick the mounting template to the desired place. Drill two holes according to the template. The template indicates holes for a 6 mm (15/64 in.) drill bit.
2. Insert two anchors into the holes. Use the mounting screws to affix the bracket (or wedge with bracket if you use the wedge to adjust the angle) over the anchors.

   Note: When mounting to uneven walls, stick the foam pad on the back of the bracket (or wedge if used).

3. Attach the doorbell to the bracket, sliding down to the bottom until it clicks into place. Then tighten the screw at the bottom to secure the doorbell.

How to Detach the Doorbell from the Wall

Loosen the screw at the bottom of the bracket. Hold the doorbell and pull it up to detach it from the bracket.

Set Up Your Doorbell

After installing the doorbell, follow the steps below to set up the doorbell.

Step 1: Download Tapo App

Get the Tapo app from the App Store or Google Play, or by scanning the QR code below.

Step 2: Log In

Open the app, and log in with your TP-Link ID. If you don't have an account, create one first.

Step 3: Add Your Doorbell

Tap the button in the app and search for your model. Follow the app instructions to set up your doorbell.

Set Up Using Amazon Frustration-Free Setup

What is Amazon Frustration-Free Setup?

Amazon Frustration-Free Setup can help connect and set up Tapo smart devices in fewer steps, without having to remember and re-enter your Wi-Fi password on each device.

To use this feature, confirm the following:

• The new Tapo device supports Amazon FFS.
• The new Tapo device is purchased from Amazon.
• You have an Amazon FFS enabled Alexa device or router.
• You have saved your Wi-Fi information to Amazon by using Alexa echo.
• Your Tapo device and router are on the same network as your Alexa echo.

LED Indications during Amazon Frustration-Free Setup

If the LED does not turn solid white after a long time, you can try to add the Tapo device manually. (Press the Reset button on your Tapo device once. Then open the Tapo app, tap the + button on the page, select your device model, and follow the app instructions.)

How to use Amazon Frustration-Free Setup with Tapo devices

1. Open the Amazon Alexa app. Then tap More and select Skills & Games.

3. Tap the ENABLE TO USE button.

4. Log in with your TP-Link ID that has bound to your Tapo device, and tap Authorize. After authorized successfully, the message "Tapo has been successfully linked" will come up.

5. Plug in your Tapo device and the setup will complete automatically in two minutes. For setting up more Tapo devices, just plug in and enjoy!

   Confirmation: If this device displays on the Home page in the Tapo app, it indicates this device has been successfully associated with your Amazon account and joined your Wi-Fi network automatically. If this device does not display on the Home page in the Tapo app, try setting it up manually. (Tap the + button on the page, select your device model, and then follow the app instructions.)

How to Reset the Doorbell

Find the Reset button on the back of the doorbell. Press and hold for about 5 seconds to reset the doorbell.
