Frame Assembly
- Identify the correct frame pieces to attach.
- Insert the brackets into the frame and screw from the outside.
- Tighten the bracket screws equally until there is no gap between the frames.
- For the threshold, use the 1.5 inch long screws that came with the frame and screw the side pieces into the bottom track from behind.
- Once the frame is assembled, place it in the installation location and check the opening size and floor level.
- Recommended opening size is overall frame size +1/2".
- Check the door's spec sheet to ensure the frame is facing the correct way.
- The hinge will be on the side closest to the outside.
Frame Installation
- Apply Liquid Nail under the track and place the frame in the opening. Liquid Nail is recommended for the bottom track for better waterproofing, unless the floor is not level, in which case you will need to anchor the track to the floor.
- Drill a 7/16 hole into the first layer of the side frames for the cap and a 1/4" hole on the other layers.
- Side frames require 4-5 screws (6" from bottom, 6" from top, and other screws spaced equally along the frame).
- Top track requires 2-3 screws spaced equally along the top piece.
- Ensure the frame is level. Screw the frame to the opening.
- Cover the hole with a plastic cap.
Door Panels & Handle Installation
- Install the first panel by hanging it on the frame hinges. Repeat with the second panel.
- Install the handle to the main panel using the 3-inch screws. The main lock is a 3-point lock. To lock the door, pull up the handle; the latches will engage. Turning the knob can disable the handle. Turning the knob by itself will not engage the latches.
