36" Portable Sawmill ASSEMBLY
1. RAILS & CENTRE BUNK
Assemble the rails and center bunk. Use eight M10 X 30 mm flanged hex bolts and M10 flanged lock nuts per side. Snug the bolts sufficiently to allow minor adjustments to track width after all bunks are assembled to the rails.
Visual Description: Depicts two long rail pieces and a central bunk structure. Bolts and nuts are shown connecting the bunk to the rails. A reinforcement plate is also illustrated.
2. MID & END BUNKS
Ensure bunks are oriented so that the log support sleeves are all on the same side. Use M10 X 30 mm flanged hex bolts and M10 flanged lock nuts at all end and mid bunk locations. Snug the hardware similarly to the center bunk.
Visual Description: Illustrates multiple bunk assemblies being attached to the main rail structure using bolts and nuts.
3. FEET
Assemble the leveling feet by threading the M16 hex nut through the bottom of the guide rail to each foot. Do not tighten the nuts yet; leave a noticeable gap between the nut and the track to allow for track leveling later. Turn the middle nut on each foot to fine-tune the level. Once level, secure each foot to the rail by tightening the M16 top nut.
Visual Description: Shows the bottom of the rail structure with feet being attached. An M16 hex nut is depicted threading upwards. A close-up illustrates how to adjust the feet for leveling.
4. LIMIT PLATE
Assemble each carriage stop (limit plate) to the inside of the track rails using two (2) M10 X 30 mm flanged hex bolts and M10 flanged lock nuts.
Visual Description: Illustrates a limit plate being attached to the inner side of the track rail using bolts and nuts.
5. LOG CLAMPS
Attach the log clamp assembly to the track using the provided nuts and bolts and tighten. Attach the log dog assembly to the track as shown with the 4 nuts and bolts provided. Note that there are various locations along the track for bolting this assembly. Select a position that will securely hold the log against the log supports, depending on the number of track sections used.
Visual Description: Shows log clamps being bolted to the track. The log dog assembly is also depicted.
6. LOG SUPPORTS
The log supports can be installed into any bunk with a sleeve by sliding them down through the top of the sleeve and securing them with the T-bolt. The longer group of supports is ideal for larger logs. Use the shorter key stop log support for milling smaller logs and square cants.
Visual Description: Illustrates log supports being inserted into a bunk sleeve and secured with a T-bolt. Two types of log supports (longer and shorter) are depicted.
7. SAWMILL HEAD ASSEMBLY
Insert vertical post assemblies into their corresponding locations in the head assembly.
Visual Description: Shows vertical posts being inserted into the main sawmill head structure.
8. FRONT VERTICAL POSTS
Assemble the front vertical post to the wheel assembly using two bolts and a back plate. Repeat this step for the other front vertical post assembly.
Visual Description: Shows a front vertical post being attached to a wheel assembly with bolts and a back plate. A hexagon self-locking nut is also illustrated.
9. CAM HANDLES
Lock the cam handles on both square posts to prevent the head from moving when it is stood up. Ensure that activating the cam handles securely locks the clamps onto the square vertical post.
Visual Description: Shows the sawmill head with cam handles. The handles are depicted in a locked position.
10. REAR POSTS
Assemble the rear vertical post to the wheel assembly using two bolts and a back plate. Repeat this step for the other rear vertical post assembly.
Visual Description: Shows a rear vertical post being attached to a wheel assembly with bolts and a back plate.
11. CROSS BEAM & HEAD STOPS
Bolt the top of the square tube post and the cross beam together.
Visual Description: Shows the cross beam being attached to the top of the vertical posts.
12. CONNECTING PLATE
Install the connecting clamping plate, upper arch, and steel cable roller. Use a wrench to hold the nut and tighten the bolt.
Visual Description: Shows various components including a clamping plate, arch, and roller being attached with bolts and nuts.
13. LIFTING SYSTEM
Install the lifting system. Use a wrench to hold the nut and tighten the bolt.
Visual Description: Shows parts of the lifting system being attached with bolts and nuts.
14. LOG SCALE
1. Install the ruler. Use a wrench to hold the nut and tighten the bolt. 2. Install the square indicator rod to the sawmill using the two bolts and tighten. Slide the scale indicator over the square rod and tighten.
Visual Description: Shows the log scale ruler, indicator rod, and scale indicator being assembled.
15. PUSH HANDLE
Install the push handle onto the rear post of the machine using provided U-bolts and nuts. The installation height can be adjusted. Tighten the nuts in a position suitable for the operator.
Visual Description: Shows a push handle being attached to the rear post with U-bolts and nuts.
16. COOLING BOX
Install the cooling box bracket on the beam. Use a wrench to hold the nut and tighten the bolt.
Visual Description: Shows a cooling box bracket being attached to a beam.
17. LIFT CABLE ROUTING
Route the cables on both sides as shown in the image.
Visual Description: Shows short and long cables being routed along the structure.
18. ELECTRIC WIRE CONNECT
Connect the wiring plugs together.
Visual Description: Shows electrical connectors being plugged into each other.
