Problem Solution
The light in the button I pressed flashes quickly. Fill the water reservoir with water. The float may be stuck; empty and shake the reservoir, then clean it with hot water and detergent or in the dishwasher.
The light in the button I pressed continues to flash slowly. If this takes longer than two minutes, your machine may be defective. Contact the Philips Consumer Care Center.
The CALC light lights up when the machine is heating up or brewing coffee. Limescale has built up. Descale the machine.
There is water on the worktop under the appliance. Do not overfill the water reservoir. Check if water drops are from placing or removing the reservoir.
Water or coffee leaks out of the machine. The lid was not closed properly. Place the coffee pod(s) correctly in the center of the pod holder, convex side down. The sieve in the pod holder may be clogged; unclog it with a washing-up brush. Check if the sealing ring of the lid is stuck under the distribution disk edge; if so, carefully pull it out.
The coffee volume changed. Check if the Intensity Plus slide is set to the preferred volume. The sieve in the pod holder may be clogged; unclog it with a washing-up brush. For CSA250, CSA240: Reset the volume settings to factory settings.
The coffee is not hot enough. Limescale has built up. Descale the machine. Tip: Preheat the cup by rinsing with hot water or brew a coffee without a pod.
I cannot open the lid. Switch off the coffee machine. Pull up the lever and wait 24 hours before opening the lid. To prevent this, ensure the sieve in the pod holder is clean and not clogged.
