- Store the product in a dry place in its original packaging, protected from dust and dirt, until installation. Do not accept delivery if the apparatus is not in its original packaging or shows signs of tampering.
- Do not place heavy weights on the packed product and avoid knocking or dropping it.
- When handling heavy products, use adequate lifting machinery to avoid harming people or damaging the product.
- Never lift a product by pulling its wires or terminal casing. Do not apply pressure on the propeller, turbine, or safety grid during manipulation.
Safety Information
Important Information for the Safety of Installers and Users
- Installation must only be carried out by qualified persons.
- Ensure installation complies with each country's current mechanical and electrical norms.
- The apparatus must fulfil the following standards:
- Standard for Low Pressure Instalments 2006/95/CE
- Machinery Standard 2006/42/CE
- Standard for electromagnetic compatibility 2004/108/CE
- Ventilators installed in high-risk areas (1) accessible to users must be adequately protected.
- (1) Any area in or around a machine where people's safety may be at risk.
- Ventilators are designed to move air within the parameters specified on their characteristics plate.
- This apparatus must not be used in explosive or corrosive atmospheres.
- For use in such conditions, consult Technical Service.
- If the apparatus is to be used in atmospheres with over 95% relative humidity, consult Technical Service first.
- If a ventilator is to extract air from premises with a boiler or other combustion apparatus, ensure the building has sufficient air intakes for adequate combustion.
Safety During Installation
- Ensure there are no loose elements near the ventilator. If installing in a duct, check that it is clean.
- Ensure all fittings are in place and the supporting structure is strong enough for the apparatus's full operating weight.
- Before manipulation, ensure the mains supply is disconnected, even if the machine is switched off.
- Check that the mains supply voltage and frequency match the stipulations on the characteristics plate.
- Follow the electrical connection diagrams provided.
- If an earth connection is necessary, ensure it is correctly connected and that adequate thermal and overloading protection is installed and adjusted.
- If installed in a duct, the duct must be exclusively for the ventilation system.
Electrical Connection Diagrams
The following diagrams illustrate electrical connections for various configurations:
- CAB ECOWATT (230V ± 10% 50/60Hz): Shows mains supply connections (L, N, GND) and motor control. Wire colors: BROWN to L, BLUE to N, BLUE to GND, YELLOW for Input, RED for +10 Out, FG-WHITE for FG.
- CAB ECOWATT + REB ECOWATT: Includes the REB-ECOWATT unit with terminals FG, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.
- CAB ECOWATT + CONTROL ECOWATT AC/DC: Includes the CONTROL-ECOWATTAC/DC unit with terminals 0...10V, 11, 10, OUTM, OV, GND, INPUT, OUTPUT, +10V, FG.
A rotary switch for RPM [speed control] is also depicted for the CAB ECOWATT unit.
Starting Up
Before Starting Up the Machine:
- Ensure the apparatus is well secured and electrical connections are correct.
- Verify safety devices are adequately connected.
- Check that no loose material or fittings surround the ventilator, especially if mounted in a duct.
- Confirm earth fittings are adequately connected.
- Ensure electrical safety devices are correctly connected, adjusted, and ready for use.
- Check that wire and electrical connection inputs are correctly sealed and water-tight.
When Starting Up the Machine:
- Ensure the propeller turns in the correct direction.
- Check for abnormal vibrations.
- If any electrical safety device trips, disconnect the apparatus immediately. Thoroughly check the entire installation before attempting to restart.
Maintenance
- Before servicing, disconnect the ventilator from the mains supply, even if switched off. Prevent accidental reconnection.
- The apparatus requires regular inspection, considering its working conditions, to prevent dirt or dust accumulation on the propeller, turbine, motor, or grids, which could be dangerous and shorten its lifespan.
- Exercise extreme care when cleaning not to tamper with the propeller or turbine.
- All maintenance and repair work must comply strictly with current safety regulations in each country.
