Getting Started
Your thermostat is pre-programmed and ready to use. The initial setup involves setting the correct time and day for optimal operation. You can also select your preferred fan setting (Auto/On) and system mode (Heat/Cool/Off). For the RTH6450 model, an Auto Changeover feature is available.
Key Settings:
- Time and Day: Essential for proper scheduling.
- Fan Setting: Choose 'Auto' for fan operation only when heating/cooling is active, or 'On' for continuous fan operation.
- System Setting: Select 'Heat', 'Cool', 'Off', or 'Auto' (RTH6450 only) based on your climate control needs.
Programming for Energy Savings
Maximize your energy savings by utilizing the programmable schedules. The thermostat allows for four distinct time periods per day, with customizable settings for weekdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Default energy-saving settings are provided for Wake, Leave, Return, and Sleep periods to reduce heating and cooling expenses.
