Diagram Description
The product diagram illustrates the headlamp's components and performance characteristics. It shows the headlamp unit connected to a battery case, highlighting a USB Type-C charging port. The control system features a "General switch" and a "Functional switch," each with distinct operation modes (ON/OFF, output selection, SOS, Red Light). A runtime graph displays lumen output over time for various spotlight and floodlight modes, indicating approximate runtimes for Turbo (2h), High (4h), Med (8h), Low (24h), and Eco (56h) for the spotlight, and High (8h), Med (24h), and Low (40h) for the floodlight.

*The Turbo output is measured in a total of runtime including output at reduced levels due to temperature or protection mechanism in the design.
Note: Specifications are based on Fenix laboratory testing using a Fenix ARB-L21-5000 Li-ion battery under specific environmental conditions. Actual performance may vary.
Operating Instruction
Switches:
- General Switch: Controls ON/OFF and output selection in General mode.
- Functional Switch: Controls ON/OFF and output selection in Functional mode.
On/Off: Press and hold either switch for 0.5 seconds to turn the lamp ON or OFF.
Output Selection:
- General Mode: Single click the General switch to cycle through Eco → Low → Med → High → Turbo.
- Functional Mode: Single click the Functional switch to cycle through Low → Med → High → Red Light → SOS.
Lockout Function:
- Lock: When the lamp is OFF, press and hold either switch, or simultaneously press both switches for 3 seconds. The lamp will blink red four times to indicate it is locked.
- Unlock: When the lamp is locked, simultaneously press both switches for 3 seconds. The lamp will activate with four 1-second red blinks and then turn on in Red Light mode.
- In locked status, clicking or pressing the switches will activate four 1-second red blinks to indicate the locked status.
Intelligent Memory Circuit: The headlamp memorizes the last selected output mode. When turned on again, it recalls the previously used output.
Battery Specifications and Management
The Fenix HP25R V2.0 supports various Li-ion batteries:
Type | Dimension | Nominal Voltage | Usability |
---|---|---|---|
Fenix ARB-L21 Series | 21700 | 3.6V | Recommended ✔️ |
Fenix ARB-L18 Series | 18650 | 3.6V | Usable (with ALF-18 battery holder) ✔️ |
Non-rechargeable Battery (Lithium) | CR123A | 3V | Banned ❌ |
Rechargeable Battery (Li-ion) | 16340 | 3.6V | Banned ❌ |
Rechargeable Battery (Li-ion) | 18650 | 3.6V | Banned ❌ |
⚠️ Warning: Li-ion batteries are powerful cells. Use only quality batteries with circuit protection to reduce risks. Users assume risks associated with cell damage or short-circuiting.
Battery Replacement
Unscrew the tail cap to insert the battery according to the polarity marks, then screw the cap back on securely.
Charging
- Uncover the charging port cap and plug the USB Type-C cable into the port.
- The charging indicator will be red while charging and turn green when fully charged.
- The included Fenix ARB-L21-5000 battery typically charges in about 4 hours using a 5V/2A adapter.
- After charging, replace the anti-dust cap to maintain waterproof and dustproof integrity.
- For stored batteries, recharge every four months to maintain optimal Li-ion battery performance.
- The headlamp can be used while charging, but charging time will be extended.
Battery Level Indication
With the lamp switched OFF, single-click either switch to check the battery status (indicator stays on for 3 seconds):
- Green light on: Saturated (100% - 85%)
- Green light flashes: Sufficient (85% - 50%)
- Red light on: Poor (50% - 25%)
- Red light flashes: Critical (25% - 1%)
Note: This function works with Fenix ARB-L21 Series batteries only.
Intelligent Overheat Protection
To prevent overheating during prolonged use at high output levels (e.g., Turbo mode), the headlamp will automatically reduce brightness if its temperature reaches 60°C (140°F) or above. Once the temperature drops below this threshold, Turbo mode can be reselected.
Low-Voltage Warning
When the battery voltage drops below a preset level, the headlamp will automatically downshift to lower brightness modes, eventually reaching Eco output. If this occurs in Eco mode, the lamp will blink three times every five minutes as a reminder to recharge or replace the battery.
Note: This function works with Fenix ARB-L21 Series batteries only.
Headband Assembly
The headband is factory assembled. Adjust it to your preferred length by sliding the buckle.
Usage and Maintenance
- Disassembling the sealed head can cause damage and void the warranty.
- Fenix recommends using high-quality Fenix batteries.
- For long-term storage, remove the battery to prevent damage from electrolyte leakage.
- Lock the lamp or remove the battery to prevent accidental activation during storage or transport.
- Regularly inspect and replace O-rings if worn to maintain the waterproof seal.
- Clean battery contacts periodically with a cotton swab soaked in rubbing alcohol to ensure optimal performance and prevent flickering or failure to illuminate.
- If issues persist after cleaning contacts or replacing the battery, contact your distributor.
