The SteelSeries Engine software allows for customization of your Apex Pro TKL keyboard, including key assignments, macro recording, and illumination settings.
Product Overview
The Apex Pro TKL features:
- 01 OLED Smart Display: Provides real-time information and settings adjustments.
- 02 Multimedia Volume Roller: Control volume with a tactile roller.
- 03 OLED Menu Button: Navigate and select options within the OLED display.
- 04 SteelSeries Function Key: Access secondary functions and settings.
- 05 USB Passthrough Port: Connect peripherals directly to the keyboard.
- 06 USB Keyboard Plug: Connects the keyboard to your computer.
- 07 USB Passthrough Plug: Connects peripherals via the passthrough port.
- 08 Profile Switching Key: Cycle through saved keyboard profiles.
- 09 On-the-fly Macro Recording Key: Record macros without interrupting gameplay.
- 10 Illumination Brightness Down Key: Decrease keyboard backlighting.
- 11 Illumination Brightness Up Key: Increase keyboard backlighting.
Setup
Connection
Connect the USB Keyboard Plug 06 to your computer's USB 3.0 port.
To use the USB Passthrough Port 05, connect the USB Passthrough Plug 07 to your computer.

OLED Smart Display Input
OLED Menu Button 03: Long Press (2 sec) to enter the OLED menu.
Multimedia Volume Roller 02: Used for navigating the OLED menu.
Profile Switching
Press the SteelSeries Function Key 04 + Profile Switching Key 08 repeatedly to cycle through the saved profiles.
On-the-Fly Macro Recording
- Press and hold the SteelSeries Function Key 04 + Macro Recording Key 09 for 3 seconds to start recording.
- Type your desired key combinations.
- Press the SteelSeries Function Key 04 + Macro Recording Key 09 to end Macro Recording.
To cancel the recording process, press the OLED Menu Button 03.
Illumination Brightness Control
Press the SteelSeries Function Key 04 + Illumination Brightness Down Key 10 to reduce illumination brightness.
Press the SteelSeries Function Key 04 + Illumination Brightness Up Key 11 to increase illumination brightness.
Actuation Adjustment
To configure the actuation of the highlighted keys, download SteelSeries Engine or access the respective settings via the OLED Menu.
