1 Unpack and Connect
This section guides you through unpacking and connecting your ePhoto Z300 scanner.
The diagram shows the scanner, USB cable, power adapter, calibration sheet, and stickers. Instructions include tearing off stickers and protective film from the scanner and connecting it to your computer.

2 Install Software
Install the necessary software for your scanner.

Follow the on-screen instructions for installation. The software includes calibration tools.
Calibration: Calibrate the scanner if colors appear incorrect or vary significantly from the original. Insert the calibration sheet and click 'Start' in the calibration utility.
3 Scan Your Photo
This section details how to scan your photos or documents.
The scanning interface indicates the number of photos that can be scanned before saving: 50 photos for Windows and 60 photos for macOS. This interface allows continuous scanning.
Scanning Procedure: Insert the photo or document face down into the scanner.
Scanner Status:
- The LED shines blue: Ready to use.
- The LED shines orange: No connection.
A checkmark graphic indicates successful operation or completion. [✔️]
Software Usage and Features
The Plustek ePhoto software allows you to manage and edit your scanned images.
Editing: Double-click a scanned photo within the software to edit it. The editing tools include options for color correction, exposure, photo restoration, and more.
Preferences: You can configure various settings:
- Scan as: Select file formats like JPEG, TIFF, PNG, PDF, etc.
- Resolution: Set the scanning resolution (e.g., 300 dpi).
- JPEG Quality: Adjust the quality for JPEG files.
- Auto Update: Configure software update checks.
- Scan and save directly to: Specify a destination folder for scanned files, enabling continuous scanning without previewing. This feature is available for both Windows and macOS.
- Auto Crop & Auto Deskew: Automatically adjusts the borders and straightens scanned documents.
- Apply Quick Fix: Apply basic image enhancements.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your scanned images, follow these steps:
Incorrect Colors: If the color of the scanned images is not correct, please perform the following:
- Clean the scanner.
- Calibrate the scanner using the calibration sheet.
Continuous Scanning: The 'Scan and save directly to' feature allows users to scan continuously to specified locations without previewing or being limited by the number of scans.
