Attaching & Removing Safety Tips
Handling tips safely is crucial.
Always ensure the device is OFF before attaching or removing a tip. Use the provided cartridge case for safe handling.
- To Attach: Slide the device handle along the tracks of a new safety tip until it "clicks" [audible confirmation] into place.
- To Remove: Insert the tip into the cartridge case until you hear a "click" [audible confirmation], then slide the device away from the box. Never use your hands or fingers to remove the tip. You may use the edge of a table to assist if needed.
Safety Tips are nickel-free. Caution: Safety Tips are sharp; handle with care.
Sonicsmooth Pro+ Dermaplaning: Step-by-Step
Follow these steps for effective dermaplaning.
- Preparation: Thoroughly cleanse the treatment area with an oil-free cleanser. Rinse and pat dry.
- Speed Selection: Press the power button to select your desired speed setting (low, medium, or high). Pressing the button a fourth time will turn the device off. Safety Tips are single-use and should be disposed of after each use.
- Positioning: Hold the Sonicsmooth Pro+ at a 45° angle against the skin, applying light pressure. Allow the sonic technology to perform the exfoliation. Hold the skin taut with your free hand to prevent injury.
- Treatment Strokes: Begin at the forehead hairline and make short, feathery strokes, following the direction of hair growth. You may gently glide over the skin in a treatment area 1-3 times.
- Areas to Avoid: Do not use over raised imperfections (including acne), the eyelid, directly on the nose, or on the lips.
- Post-Treatment: You may apply serums or moisturizers. Do not use scrubs, exfoliators, or peels immediately after.
Sonicsmooth Pro+ Dermaplaning Tips
- Always use Sonicsmooth following the direction of hair growth, never against it. Downward strokes are recommended.
- Hold the skin taut with your free hand for optimal results.
- Skin may appear pink or slightly red after treatment; this will subside within a few hours. For this reason, evening treatments are recommended.
- The entire face and neck can be treated. Avoid any raised imperfections, the eye socket, nose, and lips.
- For best results, aestheticians recommend dermaplaning when you are not applying SPF or makeup immediately afterward, allowing freshly exfoliated skin to absorb treatments. Avoid alcohol or witch hazel products post-treatment.
- Sonic dermaplaning is a rejuvenating exfoliating treatment. Take precautions with sun exposure before and after treatments.
- Always use a fresh Safety Tip for hygiene and to prevent bacteria spread. Do not use damaged or broken tips.
- Treatments can be performed every 7-10 days as peach fuzz, dead skin, and debris accumulate. Spacing treatments one week apart is ideal for maintaining a smooth complexion.
