Moda Fabrics is celebrating "50 Years of Moda" with a one-of-a-kind, fabric collection and a quilt contest! For 50 years, Moda has been a leader and trusted name in the quilting industry, producing quality quilting fabrics with sought-after, talented designers; developing and distributing innovative products that improve the quilting experience; supporting quilt retailers of all sizes around the world; and inspiring and educating quilters to continue this vibrant and history-rich traditional craft. 2. ART QUILT - Your original design can feature traditional and/or modern techniques, including 3D accents, appliqué, foundation paper piecing, etc. 3. NEXT GENERATION QUILTER - Youth category; maker must be 17 years old or younger. All quilts must be at least 60" square and no larger than 85" x 90". At least 75% of the quilt top must be made with the Celebrating 50 Years of Moda collection. 100% of the quilt top, backing and binding must be made with Moda Fabrics. Prize Awards for each category: *First Place - $2500 Celebrating 50 Years of Moda is a fabric collection due to arrive at Seven Sisters Quilt Shop during the month of September. You can use this collection to create a quilt in one of these three categories: *Second Place - $1000 *Third Place - One Moda Fat Quarter bundle each month for a year All entries must be received to Moda Fabrics by March 1, 2025. 1. If you have any fabric that you do not have a use for, this is one way you can help. Call to schedule your group...#989-584-3300 View a walk-through video of the retreat at www.sevensistersquiltshop.com Once Upon a Time Apple Crisp Cookies 350° Cookies: Streusel: Maple Icing: 2 apples peeled and chopped 1/2 c brown sugar 1 c powdered sugar 1 t cinnamon 1/2 c oats 3 T maple syrup 1 c butter cold and cubed 1/4 c butter softened splash of milk 1 c white sugar 1/4 c flour 1/2 c brown sugar 1 t cinnamon 2 eggs 1/4 t salt 1 T Greek yogurt or sour cream 1 t vanilla Combine chopped apples with cinnamon. In a separate bowl, Mix butter and sugars for 2 min. 3 3/4 c flour Add eggs, yogurt & vanilla. Mix well. Add flour, cream of tarter, soda & salt. Mix until dry 1 t cream of tartar ingredients are combined. Take 1/4 c of dough, and create a cavity in it. Fill cavity 1 t baking soda with a spoonful of cinnamon apples. Close dough around apples and smooth dough 1/2 t salt to form a round ball. Transfer to a lined baking sheet & flatten slightly. Mix streusel Ingredients together until crumbly. Top each cookie with 2 T of streusel. Bake for 9-12 minutes. Whisk together icing ingredients. Drizzle icing over cookies after they are mostly cooled.
