1. Introduction to the PTT Device
This section provides an overview of the physical PTT device, including how to turn it on and off, its charging status indicators, and how it connects to a mobile phone.
Turning the PTT Device ON/OFF
- To turn ON: Press the PTT button for 1 second. A green light will illuminate.
- To turn OFF: Press the PTT button for 3 seconds. A red light will flash three times.
Connecting to a Cell Phone
- Bluetooth not connected: Red and green lights flash alternately.
- Bluetooth connected: Green light flashes every five seconds.
- Intercom status: Red light will be on.
Charging the PTT Device
- Charging voltage: DC 5V.
- Charging indicator: Red light is constantly on.
- Fully charged indicator: Green light is constantly on.
- Low battery indicator: Red light flashes twice every five seconds.
2. Odmaster APP
2.1 Odmaster APP Download
The Odmaster APP can be downloaded from both Google Play Store for Android devices and the iOS App Store for Apple devices. Search for "Odmaster" in the respective app stores.
- Google Play: Look for the Odmaster app with a green 'M' logo.
- iOS App Store: Look for the Odmaster app with a green 'M' logo.
2.2 Register an account and log in
It is recommended to register using email or log in directly via Facebook.
Registration Steps (Email):
- Open the app and select "Register".
- Choose "By Email".
- Enter your email, password, and confirm password.
- Click "Register".
Login Steps (Email/Phone/Facebook):
- Open the app and select "Login".
- Choose "By Phone" or "By Email" or "Third party login" (Facebook).
- Enter your credentials.
- Click "Login".
Important Privacy Note: The app includes social features that use your birthday and gender from your profile. If you prefer not to disclose this information, select "Custom" when asked for gender during profile setup.
3. Function 1: Wireless PTT for Group Communication in Odmaster
3.1 Connect Bluetooth
To use the Odmaster app as a wireless PTT, connect your Bluetooth device.
For Android:
- Go to your phone's Bluetooth settings and ensure Bluetooth is enabled.
- In the Odmaster app, navigate to "Me" → "PTT".
- Select the Bluetooth device with the headset icon (e.g., TID-PTTAAA329).
For iOS:
- Step 1: Connect the Bluetooth device in your iOS system settings (Settings → Bluetooth). Look for devices like "TID-PTTEC9F84".
- Step 2: Connect the Bluetooth device within the Odmaster app (Me → PTT).
Note: After successful connection, a Bluetooth logo will appear within the PTT icon in the app.
3.2 Add Friends And Group
Adding Friends:
- Step 1: In the Odmaster app, navigate to "Talk" → "Add Friends".
- Step 2: Enter the nickname of the friend you wish to add and click "ADD".
Adding or Creating Groups:
- Step 1 (Join Group): In the Odmaster app, navigate to "Talk" → "Join Group".
- Step 2 (Enter Group Name): Enter the group name you wish to join.
- Step 3 (Create Group): Alternatively, to create a new group, select "Create Channel", enter the channel name, select members, and click "Create".
3.3 Call Friends
- Step 1: In the Odmaster app, navigate to "Talk" → "Friends". Select an online friend from your list.
- Step 2: Click "Send message" to open the chat interface.
- Step 3: Click the microphone icon to initiate a call.
- Step 4: Press the PTT button on your device to talk.
3.4 Group Call
- Step 1: In the Odmaster app, navigate to "Talk" → "Groups". Select a group from your list.
- Step 2: Enter the group to join the conversation.
- Step 3: Press the PTT key on your device to talk within the group.
3.5 Background Running
The Odmaster app supports background running for direct communication.
For Android: The app can run in the background, allowing direct talk.
For iOS:
- Step 1: Enter the group.
- Step 2: Keep the current page open.
- Step 3: The app will continue to run in the background, allowing you to talk.
4. Function 2: Wireless PTT for New TD-H3, TD-H8 and more TIDRADIO
This function supports new generation TD-H3 and TD-H8 models. The 1st generation H3, 1st generation H8, and 2nd generation H8 models are unsupported.
4.1 On MENU, select 5.Bluetooth
On your TIDRADIO device, navigate through the menu to select the Bluetooth option.
- Press the MENU button.
- Scroll to and select "5. Bluetooth".
- Press OK.
4.2 Select 1.BT and select ON
Within the Bluetooth settings, enable the Bluetooth function.
- Select "1. BT ON/OFF".
- Choose "ON".
- Press OK.
4.3 Select 4.BT Pairing
Initiate the Bluetooth pairing process on your radio.
- From the Bluetooth menu, select "4. BT Pairing".
- Press OK.
4.4 Select 1.Pairable
Make your radio discoverable for pairing.
- From the BT Pairing menu, select "1. Pairable".
- The radio will begin searching for devices.
4.5 Turn on the PTT
Ensure your PTT device is turned on and ready for connection.
- To turn ON: Press the PTT button for 1 second. A green light will illuminate.
- Bluetooth not connected: Red and green lights flash alternately.
- Bluetooth connected: Green light flashes every five seconds.
- Intercom status: Red light will be on.
4.6 After searching, select your TID-PTT
Once your radio has found the PTT device, select it to establish a connection.
- On the radio's display, select your TID-PTT device (e.g., TID-PTTf90f34).
- When the PTT is connected successfully, the green light flashes every 5 seconds. The Bluetooth icon on the radio display will turn dark blue.
5. Function 3: Wireless Programmer for Radios
About Location Permissions
According to Android development guidelines, enabling location permission is required for the Bluetooth programmer to function correctly.

5.2 Connect bluetooth and radio in APP
To connect your Bluetooth programmer to the radio via the app:
- Turn on Bluetooth on your mobile phone.
- Important: Do not pair the device with your phone in the phone's Bluetooth settings. Just ensure Bluetooth is enabled.
- Open the Odmaster App.
- Within the app, navigate to "Connect Bluetooth" and then "Select Model".
- Pair with the programmer within the app. When "TIDRADIO KIT" is displayed, the connection is successful.
Plug the programmer into the radio and ensure both the programmer and the radio are turned on. When the Bluetooth programmer is turned on, its indicator light will show red and green.
5.3 Select model and read from radio
After connecting the programmer, select your radio model and read its data.
- In the Odmaster app, after connecting Bluetooth, select "Select Model".
- Choose your specific radio model.
- Then, select "Read" to read data from the connected radio.
5.4 Program data and write to radio
Once data is read, you can program new data and write it to the radio.
When the Bluetooth programmer is reading and writing data, its indicator light will flash red and green together.
5.5 Save the programming file
You can save your programming configurations as files. These files can only be used on the same radio model.
Step 1: Save to RX/TX List
- In the "Program & Setting" section, click "Save".
- A "Save to RX/TX List" dialog will appear. Enter a name for your file (e.g., "test1").
- Click "Confirm".
Step 2: Select saved file
- Click "RX/TX List".
- Select the programming file you have saved (e.g., "test1").
Step 3: Write to radio
After selecting the file, click "Write" to transfer the programming data to your radio.
Step 4: Modify and Update Template
If you wish to modify an existing template, edit the parameters (e.g., RX Frequency, TX Frequency, Dec, Enc, TX Power, Scan Add, W-N) and then click "Update".
5.6 Repeater List Feature
The app allows you to easily find local repeaters and import their configurations to your radio.
5.7 Programming on PC
Odmaster Web provides a more comfortable, convenient, and faster way to set parameters compared to the mobile app. After saving on the web page, data will be synchronized to your mobile phone and can be directly written to the radio.
Step 1: Open "Remote Program" in Odmaster APP settings
- Open the Odmaster APP.
- Go to "Setting".
- Enable the "Remote Program" button.
Step 2: Sign in to Odmaster Web
Access the Odmaster Web interface at https://web.odmaster.net and sign in with your account (email and password).
Step 3: Select radio model and program frequency and function
- In the "Model Selection" section on Odmaster Web, choose your radio model (e.g., Baofeng UV-5R, TIDRADIO TD-UV5R).
- Click "add" to add a frequency plan.
- Program the desired frequency and function parameters.
Step 4: Connect to Bluetooth Device
Connect your Bluetooth programming device to your computer.
Step 5: Click the Accoppia button
On the Odmaster Web interface, click the "Accoppia" (Pair) button when prompted to connect to your TIDRADIO KIT.
Step 6: Program
You can now program your radio. Odmaster supports CSV files exported from Chirp.
How to solve the PTT usage issues?
This section provides solutions for common PTT usage and programming issues.
1. Device fails to boot or charge:
- Try charging the device first.
- If it doesn't charge properly, replace the charging device.
- If issues persist, contact customer service via email at Support@tidradio.com or the corresponding purchase store's customer service.
2. Cannot connect to radio during programming:
- Press the Kenwood port and try to connect again.
3. Cannot log in or change password:
- Send your registered email to odmaster@tid-china.com for password reset.
4. Baud rate problem:
- After clicking "confirm", reconnect the Bluetooth and read your radio again.
General Technical Support:
If the above methods do not resolve the issue, contact customer service for technical support. Provide the following details:
