OBJECT
Think like the Genius and match their answer!
SET UP
- Set the deck of cards in the center of the table.
- Decide who gets to be the Genius first. It is recommended to select the player with the most interesting opinions to be the Genius first.
- Give the Genius the dry erase board and the marker.
- Distribute answer sheets from the provided pad to each player (including the Genius, who will need one for the next round).
- Give every player a writing utensil. The Genius starts with the marker, but will need something else to write with for the rest of the game. Using a pencil on the answer sheets is recommended for easy erasing.
- Note: Only use the dry erase marker on the dry erase board.
- Finally, decide how many rounds you want to play. For a smaller group, five or six rounds are recommended. For a larger group, three or four rounds are suggested. Ultimately, the decision is yours – after all, you are the genius!
PLAY
- Have the Genius flip over a card from the deck and read it aloud. The card will ask something that has a numerical answer, for example, "How many spoons do you need for a respectable spoon collection?"
- These questions do not have a "correct" answer; this is where the Genius's input is key. Whatever the Genius' answer to the question is, that becomes THE ANSWER for the round.
- Everyone else must use their knowledge of the Genius to guess what their answer is and write it down.
- Once everyone has written down their guess, players reveal their answers to the Genius.
- Then, the Genius reveals their actual answer. The player whose guess is closest to the Genius' answer gets to keep the card.
- IN CASE OF A TIE: If two or more players guess the correct answer (or the closest answer), each player receives a point. Give one player the card, and the other player(s) can mark their point on their answer sheet or use their answer sheet as a placeholder for the next round, grabbing a fresh sheet to write their next answer.
- Play then moves on with the player to the left of the current Genius taking the whiteboard and becoming the new Genius.
- If players still have space on their answer sheet, they can erase or cross out their previous answer to use the sheet again, or they can grab a fresh sheet for their new answer.
WINNING
Win the game by getting the most answers correct and prove once and for all that you are the ultimate GENIUS! (Well, at least until the next time you play...)
