Product Components and Charging
Components:
- 1a: Long hair clipping comb (14 – 35 mm)

Charging Information:
Recommended ambient temperature for charging: 41°F to 95°F / 5°C to 35°C. The battery may not charge properly or at all under extreme temperatures.
Recommended ambient temperature for trimming: 60°F to 95°F / 15°C to 35°C. Do not expose the appliance to temperatures higher than 122°F / 50°C for extended periods.
To charge, connect the appliance (switched off) to an electrical outlet using the special cord set (6) or the charging stand (7).
Initial Charging: For first-time charging or after several months of inactivity, charge continuously for at least 4 hours (HC5050/5030/5010: 8 hours).
Battery Conditioning: Once fully charged, discharge the appliance through normal use. Then recharge to full capacity. Maximum capacity is reached after several charge/discharge cycles.
Operating Time: A full charge provides at least 40 minutes of cordless operating time, which may vary depending on hair type.
Using while charging: If rechargeable batteries are discharged, the appliance can also be used by connecting to an electrical outlet via the special cord set.
Charge Indicator:
- HC 5090: Blinks green when charging. Solid green when fully charged (plugged in). Blinks green during cordless use. Flashes red when the battery is low.
- HC 5050/5030/5010: The indicator light (4) turns on when charging and turns off when fully charged.
Hair Cutting Guide
General Information:
- Ensure hair is clean, well-combed, tangle-free, and dry.
- If new to hair clipping, start with a higher setting and gradually reduce the length to avoid cutting too much hair.
- Use slow, controlled movements. Do not force the clipper through hair faster than it can cut.
- Periodically shake or blow off hair from the clipper. Remove excess hair from the comb if necessary.
- Comb hair regularly to style as desired during clipping for better control.
Hair Cutting with Clipping Comb:
- With the appliance off, attach the clipping comb (1a/1b) to the appliance.
- Use the length selector (3) to set the desired hair length.
- Length Settings (mm):
- Long hair comb (1a): 14, 17, 20, 23, 26, 29, 32, 35
- Short hair comb (1b): 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 21, 24
- Turn the appliance on (4) and cut hair to the desired length.
Hair Cutting Without Clipping Comb:
- Remove the clipping comb.
- Turn the appliance on (4) to begin cutting.
- Move the cutting system parallel to the skin (A, hair cutting), against the direction of hair growth, slowly and carefully.
- For trimming contours, position the cutting system vertically (B, trimming).
- Do not tilt the appliance while it is touching the skin (C).
- Avoid jerky movements while cutting.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Regular cleaning ensures better trimming performance.
Cleaning with Brush:
- Switch off the appliance. Open the cutting system by pressing the thumb against the trimmer from the front side (opens approx. 45°).
- Use the brush to clean the trimmers and the space behind the trimmer inside the housing.
Cleaning with Water:
- Switch off the appliance and rinse the head and trimmer under warm running water. You can also rinse the opened cutting system.
- Do not use the appliance until it has dried completely.
Appliance Maintenance:
- To ensure proper cutting system function, lubricate with light machine oil after each use, especially after cleaning with water (D).
Battery Care:
- To maintain optimal capacity of rechargeable batteries, fully discharge the appliance (through normal use) approximately every 6 months. Then, recharge to full capacity.
Battery Removal and Disposal
This appliance contains rechargeable batteries. Before disposing of the appliance, disassemble the housing as shown, remove the rechargeable batteries, and recycle or dispose of them according to local guidelines.
Caution: Disassembling the appliance will destroy it and invalidate the warranty.

60-Day Satisfaction Guarantee (USA & Canada):
If you are not satisfied with the product, call the provided numbers for return instructions within 60 days of purchase. Retain original receipt, product, and all parts. Do not return to the retailer. No refunds for products damaged by accident, neglect, or unreasonable use.
2-Year Limited Warranty (USA):
Braun warrants this product against defects in material and workmanship for two years from the original purchase date. This warranty does not cover damage from accident, misuse, abuse, dirt, water, tampering, unreasonable use, normal wear, or unauthorized servicing.
2-Year Limited Warranty (Canada):
This guarantee covers defects in material or workmanship for two years from the original purchase date. It does not cover damage from dropping, tampering, wrong current, unauthorized servicing, misuse, abuse, or normal wear of cutting parts.
Mexico Service and Warranty:
Procter & Gamble México, S. de R.L. de C.V. provides a 2-year warranty for shavers and a 1-year warranty for epilators from the purchase date. Warranty is void if the product is not operated according to instructions, used under abnormal conditions, or altered/repaired by unauthorized persons.
