Quick Installation Guide: TP-Link Mobile Wi-Fi
Screen Display
Home Screen: Press the [Power Button] to turn the screen display on or off. The screen display automatically turns off after a period of inactivity. Press the [Power Button] again to reactivate it.
Menu Screen: Swipe up or tap to enter the menu screen. Press to select an icon.
1. Install the SIM Card and Battery
Follow these steps to install the SIM card and battery:
- Remove the back cover: Slide and lift up the cover.
- Install your SIM card: Insert a Nano SIM card. (Note: Standard and Micro SIM cards require an adapter.)
- Install the provided battery: Place the battery inside the device.
- Replace the cover: Put down and slide back the cover.
SIM card requirement: Nano SIM card.
Note: If you cannot access the internet, refer to FAQ > Q1.
By default, Power Saving is disabled. The Mobile Wi-Fi will turn off Wi-Fi if no wireless devices are connected for 10 minutes. To resume Wi-Fi, press the [Power Button].
2. Connect to the Internet
- Power On: Press and hold the Power button to turn on the Mobile Wi-Fi.
- Connect your device: Press the ? Wi-Fi Sharing icon to view wireless information. Connect your smart device using the displayed SSID/Password or [QR Code].
Example Wi-Fi Information:
Wi-Fi Sharing: 5GHz
SSID: TP-Link_XXXX_5G
Password: XXXXXXXX
You can also connect by selecting the network from your device's Wi-Fi settings.

Managing Your Mobile Wi-Fi
Manage your Mobile Wi-Fi settings, block devices, and more using the following methods:
Tether App
- Download the Tether app from the App Store or Google Play, or by scanning the [QR Code].
- Connect your wireless device to the Mobile Wi-Fi.
- Create a password to log in.
Web Management Page
- Connect your wireless device to the Mobile Wi-Fi. Ensure your computer is set to obtain an IP address automatically.
- Launch a web browser and visit http://tplinkmifi.net or http://192.168.1.1.
- Create a password to log in.

AC Power Mode
AC Power Mode provides higher Wi-Fi power via a power adapter. To switch:
- Remove the Mobile Wi-Fi's back cover and battery.
- Connect the Mobile Wi-Fi to a power adapter (recommended: 5V/3A, 9V/2A, or 12V/1.5A) and power it on.
Note: Do not reinstall the battery when using AC Power Mode.
Power Saving Mode
Prioritize performance or battery life by enabling Power Saving Mode. This can be done via:
- Touchscreen: Navigate to Menu Screen → Press the Power Saving icon.
- Web Management: Log in → Go to Battery > Power Saving Mode.
- Tether App: Log in → Go to Battery > Power Saving Mode.
When Power Saving Mode is enabled, battery life is extended, but Wi-Fi power is reduced. Wi-Fi automatically turns off if no device is connected for 5 minutes.

EWAN Mode (Wireless Router Mode)
To use EWAN Mode, connect the Mobile Wi-Fi to an Ethernet outlet or modem via an Ethernet cable:
- Touchscreen: Navigate to Menu Screen → Tap Settings > Internet > Internet Access Mode, and select Ethernet.
- Web Management: Log in → Go to Advanced > Internet > Internet Access, switch to Ethernet, and click Save.
In Ethernet Mode, the WAN/LAN port functions as a WAN port. In Cellular Mode, it functions as a LAN port (disabled by default; enable via Menu > Settings > Device Settings > Port Status).

Charging Your Mobile Wi-Fi
Method 1: Via a Wall Outlet (Recommended)
Use a power adapter (5V/3A, 9V/2A, or 12V/1.5A).
Method 2: Via a Computer
Connect via USB cable.
The ? Battery icon will show solid teal when charging. The power adapter is provided by TP-Link.
FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)
Q1. What should I do if I cannot access the internet?
Log into the web management page (http://tplinkmifi.net) and check:
- PIN Status: If PIN Locked, unlock your SIM card with the PIN code from your mobile carrier.
- SIM Card: Verify it's a 5G/4G card, properly inserted, in the service area, and has sufficient credit.
- Mobile Carrier Parameters: Go to Advanced > Network > Mobile WAN > Dial-up Settings. Ensure APN, username, and password are correct, or create a new profile.
- Data Limit: Check Advanced > Network > Data Settings to ensure data usage has not exceeded allowances.
Q2. How do I restore the Mobile Wi-Fi to its factory default settings?
Method 1: With the device powered on, remove the cover and press and hold the Reset button with a pin until the screen goes dark.
Method 2: Navigate to Menu > Settings > System Settings, and tap Reset.
Note: Restoring to factory defaults will erase all custom settings.
Safety Information
- Keep the device away from water, fire, humidity, or hot environments.
- Do not attempt to disassemble, repair, or modify the device. Contact TP-Link for service.
- Do not use the device where wireless devices are prohibited.
Battery Safety Precautions:
- Avoid replacing the battery with an incorrect type.
- Do not dispose of the battery in fire or a hot oven. Do not crush or cut the battery.
- Do not expose the battery to extremely high temperatures or extremely low air pressure.
