Getting Started and Usage
This manual provides instructions for using your Philips steam iron. Please read all instructions before use.
Preparation for Use
When using the iron for the first time, some smoke may be visible. This is normal and will cease after a short while.

Operating Instructions
- Fill the water tank: Open the water tank cap and fill with water up to the MAX indicator. Close the cap.
- Plug in the iron and select the desired temperature using the temperature control dial. The indicator light will turn on.
- Wait for the iron to heat up. The indicator light will turn off when the iron reaches the set temperature.
- Start ironing. Use the steam boost button for extra steam when needed.
- For vertical steaming, hold the iron upright and press the steam boost button.
Calc-Clean Function
Regularly use the Calc-Clean function to remove scale buildup and maintain optimal performance. Follow the instructions shown in the diagrams for the Calc-Clean process.
Auto Shut-Off
The iron is equipped with an Auto Shut-Off feature for safety. If the iron is left untouched for a period of time (e.g., 30 seconds on its soleplate or side, 8 minutes on its base), it will automatically switch off.

Maintenance and Care
Cleaning the Soleplate: After the iron has cooled down, wipe the soleplate with a damp cloth. If there are stubborn residues, use a damp cloth with a small amount of non-abrasive liquid detergent. Wipe clean with a damp cloth and dry with a soft cloth.
Descaling: Regularly descale the iron using the Calc-Clean function as described in the operating instructions.
Storage: Allow the iron to cool down completely before storing. Store it upright in a dry place.
Safety Precautions
- Always unplug the iron from the power outlet when filling the water tank or when not in use.
- Do not immerse the iron in water or any other liquid.
- Keep the iron and its cord out of reach of children.
- Do not leave the iron unattended while it is connected to the power supply.
- Use the iron on a stable, flat surface.
- Ensure the voltage indicated on the iron corresponds to the local mains voltage before connecting the iron.
