Ninja Foodi Grill: Let's Get Grilling!
Tips & Tricks for Optimal Grilling, Air Crisping, Baking, Roasting, and Dehydrating.
Grill Tips & Tricks
- The Oil Matters: For less smoke, use oils with a high smoke point (canola, coconut, avocado, vegetable, grapeseed) instead of olive oil.
- Don't Overcrowd: Arrange ingredients in a single layer for consistent browning and charring.
- Batch Cooking: Empty fat/oil from the pot if batch cooking more than twice. Allow the unit to run for three minutes between batches to reheat the grill grate.
- Check Food Temperature: Monitor doneness with a food thermometer. Remove food 5°F below the target temperature as it continues to cook while resting.
Air Crisp Tips & Tricks
- Shake, Shake, Shake: Check food and shake the crisper basket frequently for even browning. Remove food at desired brownness.
- Use Oil for Crispiness: For best results with vegetables, use an even, light coating of canola oil.
- Don't Overcrowd: Arrange ingredients to ensure consistent browning.
- Secure Your Food: Use toothpicks for light food items to prevent them from being blown around by the fan.
Bake/Roast Tips & Tricks
- Convert Traditional Recipes: Use Bake or Roast functions. Reduce oven temperature by 25°F and check food often.
- Prevent Oxidation: Soak cut fruits like apples and pears in water with lemon juice for 5 minutes to prevent browning.
Dehydrate Tips & Tricks
- Trim the Fat: Trim all fat from meat before dehydrating, as fat does not dry out and can spoil.
- Pasteurize Jerky: Finish dehydrated meats and fish by using the Roast function at 330°F for 1 minute.
Preheat for Better Results
For best grilling results, preheat the Foodi Grill for approximately 8 minutes before adding food. Adding food before or during preheat may lead to overcooking.
