1.2 Intended Use
Appliances without a plug must only be connected by a qualified technician. Damage caused by incorrect connection will void the warranty.
This appliance is intended for:
- Preparing food and drinks.
- Use under supervision. For short periods of cooking, keep the appliance under constant supervision.
- Private use in domestic households and in enclosed domestic environments.
- Up to a maximum altitude of 2000 m above sea level.
Do not use the appliance:
- With an external timer or a separate remote control. This does not apply if the operation is switched off by devices that are registered according to EN 50615.
2 Preventing Property Damage
CAUTION!
Rough pan bases can scratch the ceramic glass.
- Check your cookware.
Cooking without food can damage cookware or the appliance.
- Never place empty pots or pans on a hot cooking zone. Never cook without food.
Incorrectly positioned cookware can cause the appliance to overheat.
- Never place hot pans or pots on the control elements or the hob frame.
Hard or pointed objects falling onto the hob may cause damage.
- Do not allow hard or pointed objects to fall onto the hob.
Materials that are not heat-resistant will melt on hot cooking zones.
- Do not use hob covers.
- Do not use aluminium foil or plastic containers.
The hob heats up. Do not store flammable items in the drawers directly below the hob.
Hob covers can cause accidents, e.g. due to overheating, ignition or material breakage.
- Do not use hob covers.
Food can ignite.
- Monitor the cooking process. Monitor short cooking processes continuously.
WARNING – Risk of burns!
The appliance and its accessible parts become hot during use, especially the hob frame if fitted. Take care not to touch hot elements. Keep small children away from the appliance.
Protective grids for the hob can cause accidents.
- Never use protective grids for the hob.
The appliance heats up during operation. Allow the appliance to cool before cleaning.
WARNING – Risk of electric shock!
Improper repairs are dangerous. Appliance repairs may only be carried out by trained specialists. Only original spare parts may be used for repairs. If the power cable of this appliance is damaged, it must be replaced by a trained specialist.
Damaged appliances or damaged power cables are dangerous. Never use a damaged appliance. If the surface is cracked, the appliance must be switched off to prevent electric shock. In this case, do not switch off the appliance using the main switch, but switch off the circuit breaker in the fuse box. Contact customer service.
Penetrating moisture can cause an electric shock.
- Do not use steam or high-pressure cleaners for cleaning.
The insulation on electrical appliances may melt due to hot appliance parts. Never allow the connection cable of electrical appliances to come into contact with hot appliance parts.
WARNING – Risk of injury!
Pots may suddenly fly up due to liquid between the pan base and the cooking zone. Always keep the cooking zone and the pan base dry.
Children may pull packaging material over their heads or get tangled up and suffocate. Keep packaging material away from children. Do not let children play with packaging material. Children may inhale or swallow small parts and suffocate. Keep small parts away from children. Do not let children play with small parts.
3 Environmental Protection and Economy
By following these instructions, your appliance will use less energy.
- Select the cooking zone according to the size of the pot. Position the cookware in the centre.
- Use cookware with a base diameter that matches the cooking zone. Tip: Cookware manufacturers often state the top diameter of the pot. This is often larger than the base diameter.
- Incorrect cookware or cooking zones that are not completely covered consume a lot of energy.
- Cover pots with a lid of the appropriate size. If you cook without a lid, the appliance will consume significantly more energy.
- Lift the lid as rarely as possible. Lifting the lid releases a lot of energy.
- Use glass lids. With a glass lid, you can see into the pot without lifting the lid.
- Use pots and pans with flat bases. Uneven bases increase energy consumption.
- Use cookware appropriate for the amount of food being prepared. Large cookware with small amounts of food require more energy to heat up.
- Cook with a small amount of water. The more water in the pot, the more energy is required to heat it.
- Switch to a lower heat setting in good time. Higher residual heat settings waste energy.
- Utilise the residual heat of the hob. For longer cooking times, switch off the cooking zone 5-10 minutes before the end of the cooking time. Unused residual energy increases energy consumption.
Product information according to (EU) 66/2014 can be found in the enclosed appliance documentation and on the internet on your appliance's product page.
3.1 Disposal of Packaging
Packaging materials are environmentally friendly and can be recycled. Dispose of individual components according to their type.

- Only professional installation according to this installation manual guarantees safe use. The person who carried out the installation is liable for any damage caused by unprofessional installation.
16.2 Installation Under the Appliance
Do not install refrigerators, dishwashers, non-ventilated ovens, or washing machines under the appliance. If you intend to install an oven under the appliance, the worktop must be at least 20 mm thick, and in some cases, more. Follow the installation instructions for the oven. Ensure that protruding parts, such as the mains connection cover or the power cable, do not collide with, for example, a socket.
16.3 Separator Plate
If the underside of the hob is freely accessible, a separator plate must be installed. You can purchase separator plates as accessories from specialist retailers. If you use your own separator plate, the minimum distance from the appliance's mains connection must be 10 mm.
16.4 Cabinet Preparation
The worktop must be level, horizontal, and stable. The kitchen unit and the wall finishing strip must be heat-resistant up to at least 90 °C. Disconnect the appliance from the mains and check the connection.
Connection with a three-core cable
Ensure that the domestic electrical installation is adequately protected by fuses. Observe the colour coding of the mains cable. Green-yellow is the protective conductor. Blue is the neutral conductor. Brown is the phase (live conductor). If necessary, the cable can be replaced with a multi-core connection cable. When replacing the cable, follow the instructions in the following section.
Connection without a pre-fitted cable
Connect the hob only according to the connection diagram.
- If necessary, install the supplied copper bridges.
- The supply cable must be type H05 VV-F or higher. The conductor cross-section must be determined according to the current load. A cross-section of less than 1.5 mm² is not permitted.
Connection with a pre-fitted five-core connection cable
The connection cable may only be replaced by trained customer service personnel.
16.6 Fitting the Hob
Do not pinch the power cable and do not route it over sharp edges. If an oven is installed under the appliance, route the cable to the connection socket in the rear corners of the oven.
The hob can also be installed in an existing cut-out with a depth of 500 mm.
