Setting up Home Connect

Setting the Water Softening System
Adjust the water softening system based on your local water hardness:
- Press the main button.
- To access basic settings, press the [Setup button] for 3 seconds. The display will show 'Hxx'.
- Press the [Start button] repeatedly until the correct water hardness setting is displayed.
- To save the settings, press the [Setup button] for 3 seconds.
Adding Special Salt
To prevent damage to the appliance, add special salt only just before starting a programme. Ensure the dispenser is filled correctly.
- Unscrew the lid of the special salt dispenser and remove it.
- On initial start-up, fill the dispenser completely with water.
- Add the special salt to the dispenser. The water inside will be displaced. Never add detergent to the salt dispenser.
- Replace the lid and turn it to close securely.
Adding Rinse Aid
Rinse aid helps dishes dry and prevents spots. Add rinse aid to the dispenser up to the 'max' mark.

- Add rinse aid up to the maximum fill level.

Adding Detergent
Use the dry detergent dispenser for adding detergent.
- Add the detergent to the dispenser. Options for 50 ml, 25 ml, or 15 ml are indicated.

Programme data is measured according to European standard EN 60436. Consumption figures vary based on selected programmes and functions. Running times may change if the rinse aid system is switched off or rinse aid needs refilling.

How to Use Your Appliance
Follow these steps for daily operation:
- Load the tableware. Only use items suitable for dishwashers. Remove large food remnants. Ensure the spray arms can rotate freely.
- Add detergent.
- Switch on the appliance. [Power button symbol]
- Select the desired programme.
- Start the programme using the [Start button].
- Remove the tableware once the programme has finished.
- To cancel a programme, press and hold the [Reset button] for approximately 4 seconds. The programme will cancel and end within about 1 minute.
Cleaning Filters
Regularly clean the filters to ensure optimal performance. This involves a three-part filter system.
- After each wash, check the filters for residue.
- Turn the coarse filter anticlockwise and remove the filter system (labeled '2').
- Pull down the micro filter (labeled '1') to remove it.
- Press the locking catches together and lift the coarse filter out (labeled '2').
- Clean all filter elements under running water.
- Re-assemble the filter system.
- Insert the filter system back into the appliance. Turn the coarse filter clockwise, ensuring the arrow markings align correctly.
Cleaning Spray Arms
Ensure spray arms are clear of blockages for effective cleaning.
- Unscrew the upper spray arms and pull them down to remove. [Upper spray arms removed]

- Check the outlet nozzles on both spray arms for blockages under running water and remove any foreign bodies.
- Insert the lower spray arm; it will click into position.

Clean Wastewater Pump
Periodically clean the wastewater pump to prevent issues.
- Disconnect the appliance from the power supply.
- Remove the filter system.
- Scoop out any remaining water.
- Gently pry off the pump cover using a spoon, gripping it by the crosspiece.
- Lift the pump cover inwards at an angle and remove it.
- Remove any food remnants or foreign bodies from the impeller area.

- Reinstall the filter system.
