Setting up Home Connect

Connect your dishwasher to a mobile device for convenient control via the Home Connect app. Follow these steps:

  1. Install the Home Connect app on your mobile device and follow the on-screen instructions.

Setting the Water Softening System

Adjust the water softening system based on your local water hardness:

  1. Press the main button.
  2. To access basic settings, press the [Setup button] for 3 seconds. The display will show 'Hxx'.
  3. Press the [Start button] repeatedly until the correct water hardness setting is displayed.
  4. To save the settings, press the [Setup button] for 3 seconds.

Adding Special Salt

To prevent damage to the appliance, add special salt only just before starting a programme. Ensure the dispenser is filled correctly.

  1. Unscrew the lid of the special salt dispenser and remove it.
  2. On initial start-up, fill the dispenser completely with water.
  3. Add the special salt to the dispenser. The water inside will be displaced. Never add detergent to the salt dispenser.
  4. Replace the lid and turn it to close securely.

Adding Rinse Aid

Rinse aid helps dishes dry and prevents spots. Add rinse aid to the dispenser up to the 'max' mark.

  1. Press the catch on the lid of the rinse aid dispenser and lift to open. [Rinse aid dispenser lid]
  2. Add rinse aid up to the maximum fill level.
  3. Close the lid of the rinse aid dispenser; it will click into place. [Lid clicks into position]

Adding Detergent

Use the dry detergent dispenser for adding detergent.

  1. Add the detergent to the dispenser. Options for 50 ml, 25 ml, or 15 ml are indicated.

Programme data is measured according to European standard EN 60436. Consumption figures vary based on selected programmes and functions. Running times may change if the rinse aid system is switched off or rinse aid needs refilling.

How to Use Your Appliance

Follow these steps for daily operation:

  1. Load the tableware. Only use items suitable for dishwashers. Remove large food remnants. Ensure the spray arms can rotate freely.
  2. Add detergent.
  3. Switch on the appliance. [Power button symbol]
  4. Select the desired programme.
  5. Start the programme using the [Start button].
  6. Remove the tableware once the programme has finished.
  7. To cancel a programme, press and hold the [Reset button] for approximately 4 seconds. The programme will cancel and end within about 1 minute.

Cleaning Filters

Regularly clean the filters to ensure optimal performance. This involves a three-part filter system.

  1. After each wash, check the filters for residue.
  2. Turn the coarse filter anticlockwise and remove the filter system (labeled '2').
  3. Pull down the micro filter (labeled '1') to remove it.
  4. Press the locking catches together and lift the coarse filter out (labeled '2').
  5. Clean all filter elements under running water.
  6. Re-assemble the filter system.
  7. Insert the filter system back into the appliance. Turn the coarse filter clockwise, ensuring the arrow markings align correctly.

Cleaning Spray Arms

Ensure spray arms are clear of blockages for effective cleaning.

  1. Unscrew the upper spray arms and pull them down to remove. [Upper spray arms removed]
  2. Pull up the lower spray arm to remove it. [Lower spray arm removed]
  3. Check the outlet nozzles on both spray arms for blockages under running water and remove any foreign bodies.
  4. Insert the lower spray arm; it will click into position.
  5. Insert the upper spray arms and screw them firmly in place.

Clean Wastewater Pump

Periodically clean the wastewater pump to prevent issues.

  1. Disconnect the appliance from the power supply.
  2. Remove the filter system.
  3. Scoop out any remaining water.
  4. Gently pry off the pump cover using a spoon, gripping it by the crosspiece.
  5. Lift the pump cover inwards at an angle and remove it.
  6. Remove any food remnants or foreign bodies from the impeller area.
  7. Insert the pump cover and press down to secure it; it will click into position. [Pump cover secured]
  8. Reinstall the filter system.

Troubleshooting

Refer to the table below for common faults and their solutions.

E:32-00 will light up alternately or indicator for water supply lights up.
  • Supply hose is kinked. Install the supply hose without kinks.
  • Water tap is turned off. Turn on the water tap.
  • Water tap is jammed or furred up. Turn on the water tap. Ensure the flow rate is at least 10 l/min when the water supply is open.
  • Filters in the water connection of the supply or AquaStop hose are blocked. Switch off the appliance, pull out the mains plug, turn off the water tap, and unscrew the water connection. Remove the filter from the supply hose, clean it, re-insert it, screw the connection back on, check for leaks, restore power, and switch on the appliance.
E:61-02 will light up alternately.
  • Wastewater pump is blocked. Clean the wastewater pump.
  • Cover of the wastewater pump is loose. Secure the cover so it clicks into position.
E:92-40 will light up alternately.
  • Filters are soiled or blocked. Clean the filters.
  • Tableware is placed too close together or basket is overfilled. Arrange tableware with sufficient space so spray jets can reach surfaces. Avoid points of contact.
  • Spray arm rotation is blocked. Arrange tableware so it does not obstruct spray arm rotation.
  • Spray arm nozzles are blocked. Clean the spray arms.
  • Filters are soiled. Clean the filters.
  • Filters are inserted incorrectly and/or not engaged. Insert and engage filters properly.
  • Washing programme selected too weak. Select a more intensive washing programme.
Removable streaks are present on glasses, glassware with a metallic appearance and cutlery.
  • Amount of rinse aid dispensed is set too high. Set the rinse aid system to a lower setting.
  • No rinse aid has been added. Add rinse aid.
Rust spots on cutlery.
  • Cutlery is not sufficiently rust-resistant (e.g., knife blades). Use rust-resistant tableware.
  • Cutlery may also rust if washed together with rusting items. Do not wash rusting items together.
Detergent residue is present in the detergent dispenser or the tablet collecting tray.
  • Spray arms were blocked by tableware, preventing detergent rinse-out. Check that spray arms are not blocked and can rotate freely.
All LEDs light up or flash or the rinse programme does not continue running.
  • Electronics have detected a fault. Press the main switch button for approximately 4 seconds to reset and restart the appliance.
